Triple Friction Pendulum bearing offer several advantages over traditional seismic isolation systems,both in terms of system performance and economy.In terms of vibration isolation performance,The bearing is completely passive devices,yet exhibit adaptive stiffness and adaptive damping.Furthermore,since the sliding displacements are shared among multiple surfaces,triple friction pendulum bearing can be manufactured much more compactly than traditional bearings,providing substantial economic savings.In this thesis,the main work was the triple friction pendulum bearing in the process of sliding behavior performance and application in the practical engineering effect.The main contents of this thesis can be summarized as follows:1)The thesis has discussed the principles of operation and force-displacement relationships of triple friction pendulum bearing based on the behavior of traditional friction pendulum bearing.As meanwhile,the paper has compared with the experimental data validated the correctness of the theoretical analysis.2)According to the practical test,using finite element software 'ANSYS' for numerical simulation about triple friction pendulum bearing.Results demonstrated that adaptive stiffness and damping can be achieved in practice and that the analytical models are capable of reliably predicting this behavior.3)Based on the nonlinear link element in SAP2000,the thesis has developed a methodology for modeling the mechanical behavior of triple friction pendulum bearing in software commonly used for response history analysis of seismically isolated structures.The time history analysis shows that triple friction pendulum bearings have played fine seismic isolation role in story drift and the reaction of base shear.4)The thesis installed triple friction pendulum bearing on a new bridge in order to verified the seismic performance.The calculation results show that basic cycle of isolated bridges greatly extended and only a couple of piers may yield with less plasticity developed in large earthquake.Compared with non-isolated scheme,the isolated scheme is more efficient with higher safety redundancy.
