Intersections as important traffic nodes of the city,affect the operational efficiency of urban transport network,and traffic pollution can not be ignored.Setting the traffic lights around intersection reasonably can improve the traffic capacity,alleviate congestion,improve traffic safety,and reduce traffic pollut ion.Environmental factors have not be taken into account in current study about traffic signal warrant.Therefore in this paper,based on the conventional models,bi-level planning model is applied to analyze the regulation of the critical volume of setting traffic signal while satisfying the ambient noise standard.The running rules of the traffic flow within the intersection are analyzed to select the appropriate vehicle noise model for the following study.The equivalent noise trajectory and the corresponding calculation model of the flow in different direction are studied.And the calculation methods of the equivalent noise of the left and right traffic flow are given.The noise model of the signalized intersection is revised.By introducing the application of small cycle,and the noise forecasting method of the non-signalized crossing whose traffic volume is close to the critical volume is developed.The bi-level planning model of the critical volume considering traffic noise control is constructed by applying the traffic efficiency model and the noise model of non-signalized intersection.The upper target is the largest volume under the constraint of satisfying the traffic noise standards around the intersection,and the lower target is the traffic efficiency growth rate of non-signalized crossing respect to the signalized crossing is positive and minimum(at this time the volume is equal to the critical value).In the model,it is the traffic volume that to be linked between the upper and lower layers and reflect the upper layer of the lower constraints,to obtain critical volumes and the critical volume curve.Based on the traffic survey of two intersections in Harbin,the basic parameters in bi-level planning models of the critical volume are calibrated.One is signal intersection,and the other is non-signalized intersection.And the model is applied to solve the critical traffic volume and analyze the changing regulation of critical flow curve under the traffic noise limit in an intersection with the two-lane in an entrance,which provides a theoretical reference for the setting of traffic signal at the same type of intersection and verifies the feasibility of the model.The study of noise model can improve the accuracy of noise prediction and provide some theoretical basis for the prevention and control of environmental noise.The construction of the bi-level planning model of the critical volume can provide an academic reference for more reasonable determination of the wrarrant for traffic signal in the future.
