Research On The Composition Of Urban Green Street System And Its Implementation Strategies

By observing our city,we found more and more streets are being built as priority for the use of motor vehicles.Based on the concept of ‘planning to the car’,a lot of urban streets only remain its traffic function and lost the feature as a open space.The function properties of streets are gradually separated from pedestrian’s demand.Thus,these streets became negative,lack of vitality and its landscape became monotonous,so pedestrians’ comfort,security,and pleasure are destroyed on the street.What’s more,many environmental problems such as air pollution,heat island effect are increasingly prominent.In recent years,under the background of society transformation and urban reconstruction,more and more government began to reformulate the city streets polices and guidelines which review their car-oriented streets construction,and put forword the new direction for people-orientied streets development by carrying out the bus priority and slow traffic measures.As mentioned above,the paper puts forward a new urban road system which is named urban ‘green street system’.It is a revolution of urban street from car-oriented to people-oriented.The paper selects the city centres as the basic research scope,which obviously reflect the traffic conflict.The paper selects the city road system as the research object.On urban design level,the paper selects the feature of street space as the research starting point to explores the urban green street system’ concept,material composition and implementation strategies.The paper puts forward the trend of urban road system from car-oriented to people-oriented by summarizing the dynamic development of urban road system at home and abroad.Then,the paper reveals the evolution rule of the road system by teasing the process of urban road system,and confirms the street type composition of each period’s road system.Combining the concept of urban ‘green street’ in the perspective of bio-city,the paper puts forward the concept of the urban ‘green street system’ which has the systematic feature of integrality,structuredness and gradability.Then,based on the concept of urban ‘green street system’,the paper explores the street type feature and form layout feature of the system through using two core concepts: urban grid and urban traffic nuclear,and builds the complete substance composition of urban ‘green street system’.The paper continues to discuss the implementation strategies of urban ‘green street system’ which respectively are establishing guarantee mechanism and advocating the practice.Establishing guarantee mechanisms includes promulgating street design manual by government and building urban green traffic system,and the practices include practicing complete street,creating street place atmosphere,and realizing rain water recycling.The urban ‘green street system’ will become dynamic,ecological,healthy,safe and fast.It is the urban road system that can promote the construction of the fair society.
