In the process of manufacturing of aeronautical parts,the mold is a very important technological equipment.Mold design will have a direct impact on the accuracy of parts,and the cycle of mold design will also have a great impact on the production cycle.During the construction of the mold surface,the mold surface and the parts need to be well bonded and extend outward on the basis of the surface of the part to arrange the structure related to the forming process.In this paper,the surface extension technique of aeronautical parts in the design of mold surface is studied in close connection with the production demand of aviation enterprises.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1)The surface extension technology in the mold surface design and evaluation criteria of the extension surface have been summarized after research.Then the method of piecewise extension and surface extension method based on bi-directional skin fitting technique are studied and analyzed combined with the actual operation of mold design process.Then gives the application of two methods and the advantages and disadvantages.2)In order to overcome the shortcomings of the above two extension methods,a new surface extension method based on surface boundary information was proposed based on surface geometry and topology theory.First,a series of points to be extended are obtained based on the faces of boundary.Then using the tangent vector and normal vector information,we can obtain the point after extending and then generate the mesh using point to be extended,point after extending and the boundary.Then we can fill the mesh to get a piece of extension surface.3)Based on the above study,the surface continuation module of the mold surface of the aeronautical parts is developed in CATIA V5R18.The surface preprocessing,surface extension and point information extraction are realized and primary applied in the mold design in enterprise.
