As the impact of Internet getting more obvious on various aspects of social and economic issues,it also raises notable discussions among the field of traditional urban planning methods.This article starts from a microscope focused on Hui Long Guan,a huge community on the margin of Beijing.Field research,questionnaire survey,big data collected from the Internet,Geography Information System are combined to invest that how living area has been influencedthrough the use of the Internet with regard to the aspects below:the distribution and location of service facilities;the vitality of public spaces;the spacial typology and the spacial systems of living area,and draws to the conlusion that the Network Society has mutual influence on the plannings living area—both corrupted and supportive: One distinct character of network society is the instantaneity of information transforming,which contributes to a stronger self-organisation among community,the amount and distribution of service infrastructureson the living area are also more adaptable to residents' needs and the market.The growth of the third industry,New Economy in particular,promotes many other functions besides dwelling on the residential land,e.g.service provider,business office.This phenomenon challenges the traditional planning method which emposes strict land-using rules on every piece of land.On the other hand,the boundary among working,living,and entertainment is blurred under the background of network society,in which a slew of new industries appear inside the community.The tool of information technology strengthens the “visibility” and “publicness” of these inside-communityinfrastructures,the online platform gives birth to more market-oriented services,which as a whole makes up the drawbacks of infrastructure allocation in the planning period.
