Architectural morphology is a combination of both physical properties and cultural orientation of a building,which reflects the artistic value and characteristics of architecture in the perspective of form,structure and technology.As an important part of urban scape planning,architectural morphology design is vital to the formation of urban scape,since urban space is mostly shaped by buildings.Shougang Industrial Park is a typical large-scale industrial park of traditional kind in Beijing.Under the background of urban transition,the renovation planning of this area is facing challenges such as building renewal,ecological restoration and regional industrial structure transformation.To promote the quality of urban space in this area,the planning of urban scape is to be conducted,of which the design of architectural morphology will be in the focus.The paper firstly constructs a series of architectural morphology design methodologies concerning the project of Shougang Industrial Park renovation.With the application of such methodologies,three main design strategies are developed from the perspective of overall goal,featured spaces and specific architectural elements.This study hopes to provide a research-oriented design case for the future designs of large-scale traditional industrial park renovation. |
