Ice of transmission lines caused by all kinds of ice harm accident beget serious damage to the safe operation of power system in China, however,Most of melting method currently in use need a power outage,Which further strains in winter peak power, influence the reliability of power supply.Research on ice melting on power has an important practical significance on electricity technology of snow disaster prevention and control of power system in our country,to ensure the power system safe, stable and reliable operation. The first part of this article analyzes the line ice and ice conditions, physical process, calculation model, the relationship between the thermal equilibrium and the influence factors. The relations between melting current, melting time and environment parameter are studied, fore shadowing for the following research theory. The second part put forward a kind of melting method on power aim at multiple split conductor, the principle is coupling circuit current through the converter and rectifying, then increased the line heating by adding the current to the original line, which achieve deicing and anti-icing online. This paper analyzes the principle of this method and set up the mathematical model. Finally the simulation model in PSCAD/EMTDC is built, the simulation results are analyzed and verified that the melt method can realize conductor anti-icing and ice melting without power split, and will not affect the normal operation of the system. The third part is design of split conductor automatic ice melting on power management system. This system realize information visualization interface under the development environment of VC,using the serial communicating technology and computer technology for the ice melting device real-time online monitoring and information management.
