Compared with other traditional means of transport,low-speed electric vehicles possess absolute advantages,so in some parts of our country's provinces,they are well favored by consumers and showing a blowout trend in recent years.However,so far,our country has not yet introduced policies and regulations and relevant technical guidance to regulate the lowspeed electric vehicles' research and development,production,sales and use,therefore,each enterprise's product quality is different from others',even some products are unqualified.The research of low-speed electric vehicles,which include the sampling investigation,performance testing,performance improvement,can provide corresponding reference advice for production enterprises market development?technical improvement and the government departments' policy?technical standards for low-speed electric vehicles.This paper discusses the principle and development of low-speed electric vehicles' structure in detail,and did sampling survey researches on usage and market and field test researches on the Da Yang CHOK A1.The main contents of the sampling survey include the characteristics of the low-speed electric vehicle users,laws of vehicles' usage and maintenance,vehicle performance demand,the development prospects of the low-speed electric vehicle's industry,potential consumer's requirement and evaluation for vehicles.The survey results shows that low-speed electric vehicle users are mainly from low-income,middle-aged and elderly population.They pay more attention to the cost.The main purpose of the vehicle is for short distance travel and small vehicles are more popular with consumers.Through the VBOX3 i data acquisition system,the test vehicle Da Yang CHOK A1's main test projects include handling stability test,power and braking test,noise test etc.The handling stability test includes 3 parts: steady rotation?serpentine?steering portability.According to the results of the experiment,this paper puts forward some optimization measures in consideration of cost and needs to improve the performance of the vehicle aimed at the problems of the large side angle of the vehicle,the tendency of over steering,the heavy steering,the serious vibration and noise.At last,the paper puts forward the development strategy of low-speed electric vehicle from three aspects: the country,the production enterprise and the consumer.
