In order to meet the use requirements of the highway at the present stage,it is very necessary to modify the asphalt binder.At present,polymer modified asphalt(PMA)is the most widely used in the field of transportation.However,there exsists large number of studies results have shown that the storage stability of the PMA is relatively poor due to the nature difference between polymer and asphalt,the effect of polymer on the improvement of asphalt properties is limited.In recent years,montmorillonite(MMT)/asphalt nanocomposites has been paid lots of attention to by many experts and scholars at home and abroad and have made a lot of research results.The research results show that there is excellent modification effect on the base asphalt's physical properties,rheological properties and aging properties by adding the MMT into the base asphalt.However,only by appropriate organic treatment can we achieve the true sense of the nanocomposite between MMT and asphalt,so as to better improve the performance of asphalt.On the basis of references at home and abroad,picked out three kinds of organic reagents,Dodecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(DTAC),Octadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(1831)and octadecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride(1827),to organically treat the nano-montmorillonite(Na-MMT).To characterize Na-MMT and OMMT by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and Lipophilicity test.It can be found that 1831-OMMT and 1827-OMMT had greater layer spacing and better lipophilic under optimal reaction conditions,shown better modification effect.Prepared some columns of OMMT modified asphalt systems by melt intercalation method.Respectively study on the conventional physical properties,storage stability,construction performance,aging performance and rheological properties of the modified asphalt by menas of XRD,FTIR,Fluorescence microscopy,Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC),Thermogravimetric Analysis(TG)and Atomic Force Microscope(AFM),analyzed the microstructure and modification mechanism of OMMT modified asphalt and explored the relationship between microstructure and macroscopic properties of modified asphalt.It was found that 1827-OMMT and base asphalt,both of which formed a stripped nanocomposite structure,shown the most obvious performance improvement effect on asphalt.In addition,considering both performance and economic factors,the optimal content of OMMT is considered to be 3%.
