With the rapid development of traffic in China,many diseases sharply increase in asphalt pavement.Asphalt binder as the core material which constitutes the function of asphalt pavement,its characteristics directly affect the performance of asphalt pavement structure.In this paper,multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)and ionomer,which have excellent properties and great application prospect,were used for asphalt modification.MWCNTs modified asphalt,SBS modified asphalt,MWCNTs/SBS modified asphalt and ionomer(EMAA)modified asphalt were prepared by high speed shearing method.The basic performance indexes of MWCNTs modified asphalt and EMAA modified asphalt were tested to evaluation the modified effect,the modification mechanism of MWCNTs modified asphalt was analyzed by Raman spectroscopy,and the high temperature performance of MWCNTs/SBS modified asphalt and EMAA modified asphalt was analyzed by multi-stress creep recovery(MSCR)test.Analysis of MWCNTs modified asphalt performance test and Raman spectroscopy showed that MWCNTs had a good combination with the asphalt matrix through physical bonding,coordinated stress and deformation with asphalt matrix,played a role in stabilizing the structure of asphalt colloid,and thus improved the high and low temperature and anti-aging performance.However,the asphalt matrix can not be well coordinated with MWCNTs due to its softness,the excellent performance MWCNTs can not be fully exploited.The compatibility of EMAA with asphalt was significantly better than that of PetroChina T177 linear SBS and low density polyethylene(LLDPE),and EMAA modified asphalt was more stable than SBS modified asphalt.Compared with SBS modified asphalt under the same conditions,EMAA modified asphalt showed less penetration,higher softening point and 60? dynamic viscosity,and its anti-aging performance was significantly better than the original matrix asphalt and SBS modified asphalt,indicating that ionomer(EMAA)can significantly improve the asphalt colloid stability.MSCR test showed that a small amount of MWCNTs could significantly improve the creep recovery ability of SBS modified asphalt and reduce the plastic deformation of modified asphalt at 60?,thus improve the high temperature performance of asphalt.The recovery ability of EMAA modified asphalt was less than SBS modified asphalt,but the anti-plastic deformation ability was stronger,the overall high temperature performance is better than SBS modified asphalt under the same conditions.
