As an important part of the urban public transport system,bus stops provide convenience for traveling,but the set bus stops also bring some negative impact on road traffic system.When arriving or departing from the stop,buses have to interweave with traffic flow and causing interference on the road.This effect is more serious when a left-turning bus approaching its downstream intersection after departing from the stop,for it has to repeatedly changing lanes to left-turn lane in a short distance,causing conflicts with straight and right-turning traffic flow.During peak hours,left-turning buses cause great interference in the area upstream of intersection and become a bottleneck to the road or even induce traffic accidents.Previous researches focus on studying the influence of location of bus stop,with the influence of specific rarely involved.Based on these concerns,in this paper we studied the impact of left-turning bus lines.The main work can be summarized as follows:(1)Systematic analysis of traffic system with bus stop between adjacent intersections.A detailed description of how bus interacts with the traffic flow in stop area is made,which provide basis for an in-depth study of the mechanism and establishment of a more realistic micro-simulation models.(2)The establishment of cellular automaton model with bus stop between adjacent signalized intersections.Based on STNS model,combined with actual rules of urban road traffic and characteristics of traffic flow at signalized intersection,improvement and optimization are made to corresponding lane-changing rules,bus operating rules and boundary rules.In order to establish a more realistic cellular automaton model which in line with actual traffic operating rules of the road and provides the research tool for studying the impact of bus with left-turn lines on traffic flow.(3)Numerical simulation and results analysis.Under different situations of bus stop with different proportions of left-turn lines,located at different positions on the road,the impact of bus stop with left-turn lines on road capacity,accidents rate and delays are studied.In order to provides theoretical basis and experimental tools for engineering practice as well as planning of bus stop.(4)Simulation on impact of parameters of signalized intersection.The impact of cycle time and offset between two adjacent signalized intersections on road capacity,accident rate and delays are studied via simulation experiments.In order to provide experimental tools and decision support for the optimization of specific traffic management control.
