Cold patch mixtures are new material applied to repaired the asphalt concrete pavement potholes,which is all-weather and easy for construction,no pollution,low energy consumption.It has good economic and social benefits.However,the current products have not yet formed an unified performance test methods and evaluation indicators,which all have some quality problems.This status constraint the promotion of the application seriously.In order to solve the above problems,the major research started from structural characteristics of cold patch asphalt,and the "solvent and dissolution theory" is used to optimize the theoretical basis and the experimental comparison.Three kinds of traditional types ware selected as the test objects.According to the traditional mix design method,the determination of the optimum amount of binder for cold patch mixture was optimized.Through the experimental method,the traditional performance test scheme was modified,and the performance evaluation index was also cleared.Based on the characteristics of the strength of the cold patch mixture,the influencing factors of the strength formation was analyzed,and the strength formation mechanism was summarized creatively.Started the experimental analysis on the gap structure of the cold patch mixture,the PFC3D program was used to establish LB graded cold patch material discrete element evaporation model,"design air voids"was proposed to as cold patch mixture ratio design control index and "final air voids"was also proposed to as cold patch mixture Marshall sample evaluation index.Combined with the above performance evaluation results and "final air voids" ratio evaluation,AC gradation was determined as the optimum structure,and compared with the purchased LT cold patch products.The cost of the AC graded cold patch was estimated and compared with the current market of a number of products.The conventional storage methods and application technology of cold patch mixture was summarized,combined with the actual repair case,to verify the new cold feeding road performance.
