The expressway main line toll stations are the highway traffic accident black spots in geneal,and the traffic accidents occurs at the main line toll stations exert much more impacts on the subsequent vehicles than at the basic expressway,and the degree of loss is also higher.With the rapid development of ETC(Electronic Toll Collection)electronic toll collection technology in China,the hybrid toll station of ETC and MTC has become the main form of toll station in china.On the one hand,the coexistence of ETC lanes and MTC lanes will have an important impact on the process of changing at the toll station,on the other hand,the traditional mainline toll station design parameters are no longer suitable for the emergence of a large number of ETC lanes.In this paper,the main factors affecting the traffic safety of the main toll station are analyzed,and the optimal design scheme of the ETC lane and the geometric design parameters of the toll plaza are discussed according to the lane change safety.First of all,the toll station classification and structure,safety factors of mainline toll station are sorted and analyzed systematically,and the different schemes of lane changing process as for ETC Lane are analyzed.So the conclusions above lay a solid foundation for the following theoretical research and simulation modeling.Secondly,the ETC mainline toll station safety distance and safety distance based on pre ETC logo are defined based on the marker recognition process and the lane changing process when drivers driver through the mainline toll station.Moreover,theoretical model of the two safety distances above are established in order to inquiry the function relationship between the ETC lane placement scheme,toll plaza on the rate of gradient and the safe distance.Again,driving tracks of ETC users at mainline toll station are determined based on the calculation process of safety distance.The 3D road model is established using the driving tracks,so the driver-vehicle-road system simulation model can be build while the 3D road model,driver model,vehicle model are combined in ADAMS simulation software.Therefore,the corresponding index selected from the simulation results is ued to evaluate the different design schemes of the mainline toll station.Finally,a maimline toll station's safety in Nanjing City is evaluated as a case using the safety distance model and the driver-vehicle-road system simulation model have been established,and the suggestions for improvement and reasonable measures are propounded according to the evaluation results.
