As everyone knows,the application field of the electric energy meter is very much currently.In addition to the procurement of Power Grid Corp,used extensively in real estate,municipal engineering,schools,hospitals,industry,transportation infrastructure and other industries,it can be said that the need for electric energy where the need for electric energy meter.Further more,with the continuous advancement of smart grid and advanced measurement architecture,market demand for electricity metering terminal equipment--electric energy meter is still expanding,especially for smart meters.And want to have a better competitive edge in the competitive market,it is necessary to develop a low-cost,strongly compatible,highly intelligent,customer-oriented electric energy meter.In this paper,a low-power,high-performance,single-phase smart meter which is facing the international market is developed.Primary coverage:firstly,the importance of electric energy meter is discussed,the present situation and advantages of the smart meter are analysed,the background and significance of the research are explained,it is proved that the customer oriented and facing the international market of the smart meter is a trend.Secondly,the theoretical basis of the smart meter are introduced,including measurement principle and IEC62056 standard protocol;contrastive demonstration,the overall design scheme of microprocessor and special metering chip is confirmed.Thirdly,in terms of hardware,from the point of view of modularization,the hardware design of the management unit circuit,the power unit circuit,the measurement unit circuit,the communication unit circuit and the relay circuit are described in detail;in terms of software,a hierarchical,modular and object-oriented software management platform is proposed,the software design procedure of each function module is introduced,the realization of communication protocol based on IEC62056 is described.Lastly,according to international standards and design requirements,the detailed and repeated testing,certification of the smart meter are carried out,including basic performance test,functional test and accuracy test;each part can meet international standards and design requirements from the test results and data analyses.
