Based on the geographical conditions of the mountainous areas and the needs of local economic development, the vertical and horizontal indicators of the road alignments involved in the climbing and turning of common vehicles on mountain tourism roads has been researched and discussed. The road surface and line conditions of the Doushui lake and Feng mountain tourism roads and the driving characteristics of common vehicles were investigated. The theoretical design recommendation values of the horizontal and vertical indexes of mountainous tourism highways at low speed have been calculated by using Matlab programming. After that, the test sections suitable for verifying the theoretical values are selected and the speed and acceleration data of the vehicles during the design speed travel are collected through the running tests of common vehicles in mountainous tourism highways. The acceleration data of the direction is processed to analyze the stability of the climbing during the running of the vehicle in the case of the horizontal and vertical indicators of the test section, and the lateral stability and comfort during cornering, and the maximum climbing ability and turning ability of the vehicle in the low speed of the mountain tourism roads were judged. After comprehensive analysis of the previous data and results and Standardization of the home, the use of software simulation was done to verify the feasibility of horizontal and vertical line design indicator recommended values further. Finally, the recommended reference value of the maximum longitudinal section of the mountainous tourist highway in the case of the speeds of 30km/h,20km/h,and 10km/h,and the recommended reference value of the minimum radius of the horizontal curve and other reference values were finally demonstrated.
