The mountainous highway is very important parts of China's highway system,because of the mountainous special landform,climatic conditions and the characteristics of its highway alignment,making the traffic safety problems of the mountainous highway particularly vital.There are many factors which may give rise to the traffic accidents for mountainous highway,including the relatively objective reasons such as vehicles,roads conditions and the surroundings,and the relatively flexible also subjective factors that the drivers are faced with psychologically and physiologically.Therefore,to deeply study the subjective factor of the traffic system—the driver,and to establish a scientific,objective and reasonable method for evaluating the drivers' sense of driving safety are of great significance to improve the traffic safety of mountainous highway.Firstly,the perception,judgment and operation characteristics of mountainous highway drivers were analyzed according to the characteristics of mountainous highway and its traffic accidents in this thesis which was based on the driver traffic information processing process.Secondly,the definition of drivers' sense of driving safety was supplied,and its influence factors in mountainous highway and their internal relations were analyzed from the four aspects of the drivers,vehicles,roads and environment.Furthermore,the evaluation index system of drivers' sense of driving safety of mountainous highway section was established and the grade intervals of evaluation index was divided,which referred to the domestic and foreign traffic safety theory achievement of mountainous highway and combined with the current standard of highway industry.In addition,according to the selection principle of safety evaluation method and the characteristics of the evaluation of drivers' sense of driving safety for mountainous highway section,combining the traditional matter-element analysis theory with the standardized processing method and the variable weight theory,the improved matter-element model of the evaluation of drivers' sense of driving safety for mountainous highway section was built up,and the application processes of the evaluation model of drivers' sense of driving safety for mountainous highway section was proposed.Finally,the typical section of the S212 Qianyang road which is located in Shanxi Province was selected as the case study that was judged the safety level of drivers' sense of driving safety by the built-up model in order to confirm the rationality and practicability of this evaluation model.In this paper,the study object was the drivers' sense of driving safety for mountainous highway.The research results provided a certain theoretical foundation for studying the mechanism of traffic accidents,revealing quantitative relations between various factors and traffic accidents in mountainous highway traffic system,and also perfecting the theoretical system of traffic safety researches.
