Study On Stormwater Management Strategy Of Park Green Space In Yunnan Kunming

Accelerating urbanization has damaged natural hydrological mechanism and the balance of supply and demand of water resources.Although there is an increase in the amount of city park green spaces,it also consumes a large amount of water in the engineering construction,plant watering and later-stage management of those city parks.Presently,not enough attention is paid to the rational use of water in city parks,which leads to a huge waste of water resources.This article associates rainwater management with park green spaces,and intends to effectively save and manage water,as well as release the pressure of the municipal pipe network by using rainwater locally in park green spaces.This topic comes from tutor’s National Natural Science Foundation project,whose object is mostly focused on park green spaces in Kunming.Through literature methodology,on-the-spot observing method and data analysis,this project comes up with a set of rainwater management strategies fit for Kunming,realizing the goal of alleviating water crisis with rainwater,releasing the pressure of the municipal pipe network in rainy season by using rainwater locally in park green spaces.This article researches profoundly on the advanced theories and good examples of rainwater management domestically and overseas.It also analyzes the basic conditions of Kunming,including its rainfall capacity,evaporation capacity,soil,vegetation and Urban Green Space Planning.On this basis,this article probes into the feasibility and necessity of rainwater management of park green spaces in Kunming,makes clear the goal of this rainwater management system,proposes a set of rainwater management strategies fit for Kunming,and chooses Grand View Park as an example of renewal to provide reference for other parks in Kunming.The renewal plan consists of aspects of green space,buildings,roads and squares.Following the principle of water cycle in nature,this rainwater management in city park green spaces will establish a rainwater management system mainly based on green space infiltration,and propose rainwater management strategy in line with local conditions,such as nature environment and social situation.We are in the hope that the idea ofrainwater management will work out in more areas so that park green space will play its vital role in alleviating rainwater issues in the city.
