The Research Of Architecture Scale Based On Fractal Theory

The fractal geometry,as one of the three non-liner science theories,has caused widespread attention since its advent in 1975.It is not only widely used in various fields such as science and art,but also provides a new perspective for people to understand nature and world.As closely related to architecture and mathematics especially geometry,the appearance of fractal is the complement and expansion of traditional Euclidean geometry,which change architecture fundamentally.Architectural scales are basic skill and aesthetic standard in architecture design from time immemorial.While,architecture scale based on fractal theory supplies not only a new option for design and evaluation,but also enriches the architecture form and space.This thesis discusses the concept of architecture scale based on fractal theory and its application in design.Through the research of its properties and rules,the author points out the connections and differences between it and the traditional architecture scale;meanwhile,according to the creative principles of architecture scale under the fractal theory,the author tries to create some new architectural forms and space patterns,thus widening the fractal architecture creation ideas.First,author first briefly introduces the research background,the domestic and foreign related research situation,architectural practice,then summarizes the research framework of the paper and the main research methods.The second chapter introduces the basic concept.At the first,the author makes introductions of the related background knowledge of architecture scale based on fractal theory--the concept of fractal and architecture scale,then introduces the concept and characteristics of architecture scale based on fractal theory emphatically,as well as its relationship with the traditional architecture scale.Chapter three and chapter four are about theoretical research of architecture scale based on fractal.The emphasis of chapter three is the principles of architecture scale based on fractal theory.This chapter from four aspects including dimension,speed,aesthetic and hierarchy make research and discussion on application of architecture scale based on fractal in architectural design.Chapter four studies the fundamental significance of the practice of fractal theory with architecture scale based on fractal theory,explaining the functions in design of percolation theory,tiling theory,sub-type Sierpinski triangle and the thin 2D with examples.Chapter five uses some completed architectural projects which the author participated in to comprehensive discuss the subject,which are attempts transforming the relevant theory combined with design conditions to reality architecture.In the final part of the thesis,the author summarizes the subjec and makes prospects for its development direction.
