With the rapid development of electric railway, the demand for maintenance of electric railway is becoming increasingly prominent. The catenary maintenance plays an important role in the electric railway overhaul, and catenary wire wear test is one of the key and difficult points, which directly influences the catenary wire and pantograph dynamic current quality. As a result,it affects the normal operation of the electric railway. The design of catenary wire wear test equipment based on CCD includes hardware and software two parts. The hardware part includes the design of optical system, sensor driving circuit, signal collecting and processing circuit, data signal remote transmission and receiving circuit, data display circuit and equipment shell. The software part includes the design of data processing algorithm,single-chip microcomputer control system and the on-line calibration system. The measurement and transmission part of this equipment uses the cooperation between the CCD sensor and signal acquisition and processing circuit to represent catenary wire wear degree of data that will display on the receiving end through the wireless transmission module to realize remote transmission and non-contact measurement. At present, our country is mostly using contact measurement equipment to detect short distance catenary wire wear, but the speed and accuracy are unsatisfactory. And the detect process will also have catenary wire wear. What's more, they are not able to detect wire wear in time and do not timely adapt to the need of grinding situation. The non-contact detection scheme based on CCD has faster measurement speed, less workload, lower cost and the on-line calibration function, which further improves the measurement accuracy and reduces the measurement error.
