Electric simulator for underwater acoustic locating system based on buoy is an imitation buoy signal generating device, which is used to validate the validity and performance of underwater target locating and tracking system in the laboratory. In this paper,a large-scale buoy array underwater acoustic positioning system as the background, the target simulator software system which suitable for multi-channel and multi-platform is designed and developed. In this paper, the functional requirements of the electric simulator are discussed.By analyzing the acoustic characteristics of the ocean acoustic field, the physical problem of the underwater acoustic channel is simplified, and the multi-channel model of the marine environment is established. As for the signal design, using interpolation fitting algorithm and periodic stitching method.Interpolation fitting algorithm can produce high-precision Doppler signal required in the paper, and the periodic stitching method makes the data unmistakable synthesized and stored. The electric simulator mounted on a NI PXI system platform uses LabVIEW to modular software design, including signal data generation, display control, data storage and transmission.Signal data generation module provides the data to the buoy which is a key part of the positioning system;Display control module provides a good human-computer interaction platform;Data storage and transmission module in NI-DAQmx driver for electric simulator guarantee data transmission between the hardware and software. The electric simulator designed in this paper simulates the target signals in the real marine environment, and successfully conducts the laboratory experiment and lake test of the buoy array positioning system. The results prove the correctness and stability of the electric simulator and the scheduled requirements in the project completed.
