Under the background of rapid social development,the connotation and semantics of buildings are constantly changing.Therefore,more updated requirements are put forward for architectural creation ideas.The function of architecture in the dissemination of information has been generally recognized by academia.Using theoretical knowledge of communication and taking the entire communication activity of the building as a research object will bring new inspiration and vitality to architectural creation.As one of the most important architectural types in the modern era,the office building record a great deal of historical and social information and have an important influence on the shaping of urban image and space.It is also closely related to the daily lives of the general public and often leads to various related social topics.From the perspective of communication science,the office building reflect strong media attributes in the social transformation,have research value.The information age has changed the social communication structure,and corresponding changes in office activities have been made.Therefore,the office building design needs to find new entry points.Combining the related theories of communication and architecture,exploring the media attributes of the office building,analyzing the complete communication process of the office building,and considering the office building creations from the perspective of communication relations and communication effects are effective ways to enrich the design theory of the office building.At first,the paper introduces the related theories of communication,explains and explores the media and the media attributes of architecture,analyzes the communication process of the building.In combination with the relevant knowledge of architecture,through the analysis of typical cases of the office building in China and the West,the early office building records and expressed information are explained.The content and methods of information expression of the contemporary office building are also analyzed.Afterwards,the paper explores the media attributes of the office building.Focusing on the communication process of the office building and the main factors affecting the communication process,it proposes an office building analysis method and analyzes some typical cases.Finally,based on the foregoing discussion,the paper summarizes the inspiration from the media attributes of office buildings,and puts forward the main points of applying the media attributes of office buildings,and combines the design process of the project to practice.The use of relevant theories of communication studies to explore the media attributes of office buildings is in fact a search for a new relationship between architecture and people,and a new perspective on architectural creation and development.This new perspective has a certain inspiration for all types of buildings.
