Urban culture and rural culture are two completely different cultural forms with their own different connotations and manifestations. After the reform and opening up,especially in recent years, with the continuous urbanization process in the country, the city continued to expand in size and scope, resulting in a number of rural residents in suburban passively accept the "urbanization",The family moved to the government-built resettlement community and quickly completed the transformation of the occupation and identity. The peasants were transformed into citizens.Their inherent cultural psychology and behavioral habits lead them to become increasingly difficult to adapt to the living environment of the relocated community according to the urban residents’ lifestyle planning and design, and lack of satisfaction, identity and sense of belonging. This article takes the integration of urban and rural cultures as the perspective, and takes the environmental design of the relocated area as the main research object. It explores the ideology, cultural psychology, behavioral patterns and adaptation to the urban culture of residents in the relocated area, and the requirements of the residents of the resettlement community in the process of adapting the urban culture to the environmental design of the relocated area are trying to construct an environmental design and transformation model that meets the cultural and psychological requirements of residents of the relocated area.First of all,the collection and analysis of relevant domestic and foreign literature data has deepened the understanding and recognition of the concepts and connotations of urban culture, rural culture, cultural integration and returningcommunities. At the same time,it outlines the cultural ecology theory, cultural fusion theory,space-behavior theory, and external space design theory related to environmental design, and serves as a theoretical basis for guiding the environmental design and transformation of the relocated area.Secondly,in terms of values, ways of thinking, customs and rituals, habits and social interaction describes the cultural differences performance of urban and rural residents and the impact on the living concepts residents and behavior. The focus was on the interdependence and mutual restraint between the residents’ cultural concepts and behaviors and the environmental design of the relocated areas. Finally,on the basis of the field visits to Changchun City’s relocated area, the project focused on the outstanding issues of the community’s environmental design and residents’ cultural concepts and behaviors that are not suited to the needs of the community. The design strategy of environmental relocation for relocated areas with site implantation, field limitation, and form reshaping has been specifically proposed. The Changchun “Nancheng Jiayuan” community has been used as an example to carry out transformation design practices.Based on the study of environmental design strategies and design practices of the relocated areas under the perspective of urban-rural cultural integration, the residents of the relocated area can effectively improve their satisfaction with their own living environment, their sense of identity, and belonging. It can also provide a useful reference for environmental design and renovation of the relocated areas in other regions.
