The karst area has the characteristics of strong leakage,slow soil formation,strong soil erosion,vegetation vulnerability and high reverse-succession difficulty.Highway construction in karst area will cause great damage to the ecological environment.Consequently,the roadside ecological protection and conservation of the water and soil in these areas are particularly important.Taking Chongzuo to Jingxi expressway as an example,this paper studies the technology of ecological protection and conservation of water and soil using the methods of on-site investigation,mathematical statistics,theoretical analysis and engineering analogy.The paper firstly analyses the characteristics of ecological environment and soil erosion in karst areas.Then,it studies the ecological impacts of highways on land-use,vegetation,plant resources,wild animals etc.It also studies the impacts of borrow/spoil ground and solid waste.On this basis,ecological protection measures during the design phase,construction period and operation period are put forward.Finally,after elaborating the purpose of water-and-soil conservation,the layout principals and the overall system of conservation measures,the corresponding measures of each prevention areas are proposed.The results of this paper will play an important role in the highway roadside ecological environmental protection and water-and-soil conservation in the karst areas.
