Studies On Introduction And Flowering Regulation Of Paeonia Rockii In Urumqi Region

Peony is a kind of famous traditional flowers, Chinese people love it for a long time. Paeonia rockii has high ornamental value with its unique large purple spot on the base of petal. Currently Paeonia rockiis cultivated in Urumqi are less. Through the experiments of introduction and cultivation of Paeonia rockii, ecological habits of Paeonia rockii have been studied. To master the propagation technique of Paeonia rockii, hormones were used to control the flowering time. These researches would provide references to enrich the cultivars of peony in Urumqi.It’s found that various cultivars of Paeonia rockii can go through normal growing, flowering and fruiting in Urumqi through the investigation and study on Paeonia rockii in the people’s Park. Compared with the origin of Lanzhou, the germination time delayed about 20 days, flowering time delayed for about 15 days. The whole flowering period was shortened 15 days, the time of seed maturation was shortened 9 days, and there was no difference in the end time of the leaves. The growth and phenology of various cultivars are also different. There is no significant difference in plant type, flower type, color, but flower diameter become smaller, flowering rate reduce branch, growing quantitative get shorter.The experiments on seeds germination of Paeonia rockii were conducted in field. The results showed that the emergence rate of all Paeonia rockii cultivars were above 70% and varied in different cultivars. The germination rate of ’YuShiZi’ is the highest. Test shows that Paeonia rockii in Urumqi can reproduce by seed sowing method. The grafting experiments were conducted on three cultivars of Paeonia rockii, ’XueLian’,’FenXiSHi’ and ’FengGongWeiJi’, seedlings of ’DanFeng’ and root of herbaceous peony as stock, and the survival rate of the grafted plant was above 80%. The results showed that grafting method can be used to cultivate Paeonia rockii in Urumqi.Application of ethephon and MH to Paeonia rockii in autumn, it has a significant effect on leaf falling, germinate and blossoming. This application will cause early leaves falling, bud delaying, flower diameter decreasing, reducing the rate of flowering. Application of CCC, B9 and PP333 in the root in autumn could delay the germination and flowering, the total flowering stage is small, and the inhibition of the shoot is obvious.Application of B9 and PP333 on Paeonia rockii in spring has great influence on the growing and flowering of Paeonia rockii. The greater of the concentration, the more obvious of the effect of delaying terminal stage, the longer of the flowering period, and it will also promote the flowering rate, inhibit the growth of new shoots. B9 and PP333 compound preparation has an obvious effect on the growing and flowering of peony. Flowering period can be delayed from 2 to 5 days, with 3:2 ratio composition of B9 and PP333 treatment. The total delay of flowering period is not obvious, with 2:3 ratio composition B9 and PP333 treatment. The flower diameter and flower formation rate of Paeonia rockii has no obvious effect and inhibition on shoot growth.
