China is one of the world’s most important garlic production, export and consumer country, the annual production and exports accounted for more than 70% of the world’s total output and total trade, so it is quite competitive in the international market. Despite the planting area of garlic in China stand first in the world list, but the level of garlic harvest mechanization is very low, the main harvesting method is manpower, it is waste lots of manpower and the work efficiency is not ideal. On the other hand, after garlic harvest, most of the plastic film residue in the field, as it is accumulate for a long time will not only lead to the accumulation of garlic production but also lead to white pollution. This topic is aimed at the above problems with high efficiency harvest the garlic and recovery the film, completed the design of combined operation machine for garlic harvesting and plastic film collecting.At first, the development status of garlic harvesting machinery and plastic film collecting machine at home and abroad was studied, and the problems existing in the use of these machines in our country are discussed in this paper. Jinxiang County, the township of Chinese garlic as the spot inspection point, and adopt random principle, classification principle and diagonal principle. Test statistical analysis and calculation on the total length of the garlic plant, garlic height, stem length, garlic weight, garlic largest diameter, garlic stem diameter, spacing, line spacing, garlic table area and volume of the physical performance parameters of the field. It provides a reliable basis for the further design of garlic harvesting mechanism.Then according to the agronomic requirements of garlic planting and the characteristics of plastic film, the overall design scheme of the combined operation machine for garlic harvesting and plastic film collecting was determined. The machine equipped with power transmission system and transmission system, it is mainly composed of a transmission system, eight reel mechanisms, a digging device, eight clamping to conveying device, two soil removing device, a align cutting seedling device and a collecting device, a film collecting system and other components. And the working principle of the machine were system researched, use the digging and pulling combined operation principle, ensure the harvest garlic digging garlic and plastic collecting integration operation, improves the work quality and stability of the machine.Finally, the key components are discussed in detail, and the theoretical calculation of the whole transmission system is carried out. Through the finite element analysis of the digging shovel, it is concluded that the maximum stress of the digging shovel is satisfied with the strength requirement, and the strain is also small. The motion simulation analysis was carried out on the clamping and conveying part, and the working principle of the combined operation machine for garlic harvesting and plastic film collecting was also explained.
