| In order to filtrate efficient,stable and economical Chinese Herbal Immune Synergist in the present study,8-day old chicks were divided into ten groups randomly,with 25 chicks each.Three groups of chicks,group?,?and group?were treated with chinese herbal immunopotentiator?at the dose of 0.5%,1%,1.5% in fodder respectively;three groups(?,?and ?)fed with 0.5%,1%,1.5% of chinese herbal immunopotentiator?respectively;and another three groups(?,?and ?)were added 0.5%,1%,1.5% of chinese herbal immunopotentiator?in fodder respectively and the rest group?,without any additives,was set as the control.Determination of daily gain,the proliferation rate of peripheral T-lymphocyte,serum IL-2,IFN-?,GSH-PX,T-SOD,T-AOC,serum ND-HI antibody titer and index of immune organs were assayed at different timepoint after chinese herbal immunopotentiator treatment.The acute toxicity test on the mice was performed to further evaluate the effects of Chinese Heral Immune Synergist.The data were briefly displayed as follows:1.Daily Gain: At the stage of 8 to 21 days,22 to 25 days,36 to 39 days,8 to 49 days,the average daily gain of the group 3 and group 7 were significantly higher than that of the control group about 6.91%,8.47%,9.49%,17.53%,9.92%,9.22%,12.90% and 13.33%(P<0.05).However the effects of other groups on the daily gain was not stable or no significant difference.2.Cellular Immunity Level: On days of 21,35,49,the group 3 and group 7,the proliferation rate of peripheral T-lymphocyte was significantly higher than that in control group which were 49.49%?36.42%?42.01%?58.21%?29.59%and31.10%respectively(P<0.05).The contents of serum INF-? over the control group increased by 14.78%,19.46%,15.05%,18.40%,10.32% and 9.42% significantly(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the contents of IL-2 in serum increased by 36.42%,53.55%,26.90%,28.60%,20.50% and 31.38% significantly(P<0.05).3.Serum ND-HI Antibody Titer: At the age of 21,35 and 49 days,the antibodytiter of group 3 and group 7 were higher by 0.75,0.75,0.87,1.00,1.00 and 1.08 than the control group titer significantly(P<0.05).However the effect of other groups on the antibody titer was not stable or no significant difference.4.Antioxidant capacity: At 21,35 and 49 days of age,the activities of serum T-SOD in the group 3 and group 7 were higher than that of the control group by13.44%,14.48%,12.76%,14.82%,14.12% and 18.61% significantly(P<0.05);the activities of T-AOC of group 7 in serum were significant higher than that in the control group by 35.07%,21.79% and 30.88%(P<0.05);the activities of GSH-PX of group 3 in serum significantiy increased by 26.81%,26.75% and 15.37%(P<0.05).However,the difference between group 3 and group 7 showed no significant.And the other groups influences on the antioxidant capacity were not stable or no significant difference.5.Index of immune organs: At 21,35 and 49 days of age,compared with the control group with the group 7,the thymus index increased by 25.88%,16.21%,24.21% significantly(P<0.05);spleen index was significantly higher than that of the control group about 14.83%,14.47%,35.77%(P<0.05).bursa of fabricius were18.75%,23.42% and 18.59% higher than that of the control group significantly(P<0.05).The other groups influence on the index of immune organs were not stable or no significant difference.6.The Cost of Chinese herbal medicine: At the age of 8 to 49 day,the costs of adding Chinese herbal medicine to each group from low to high should be group7<group 1 <group 4 <group 2<group 5<group 8<group 3<group 6 <group 9.7.Acute toxicity test: The mice received different Chinese herbal medicine,at the maximum dose(0.4 mL/g)to the mice,all survived and didn't show any clinical symptoms and lesions on organs and tissues.In summary,the group 7 could improve the daily gain of chickens effectively and steadily,the level of cell immunity,antibody titer and antioxidant capacity and other indicators,in addition the costs were low and non-toxic.All these words provided the basis for the application of Chinese herbal medicine as immunopotentiator. |
