The Camellia oleifera belongs to one of the four world's famous woody oil trees.Although there are large areas of Camellia oleifera in China,many reasons can cause low economic output.The one of important reason is that the stand density planting is unreasonable.Six varieties of Camellia oleifera from shucheng of Anhui was taken as experimental material in this paper.Through the stand repeated set samples in different slope and density,using havest method to determine the seed yield of Camellia oleifera.The relationship of the stand density and leaf area index(LAI)on the seed yield of Camellia oleifera were studied on field experiment in the paper.It can provide a theoretical basis for the highest stand density(the optimal density)and the optimal leaf area index in different varieties of Camellia oleifera.The main conclusions of the study as following:(1)The results showed that the relationship between the seed yield(y)and the stand density(x)with different age in different slope(0-5°orl5-20°)all obeyed y=a+bx-cx2,in other word,the seed yield of Camellia oleifera stand initially increased and then decreased with increment of stand density,which indicated that the maximum seed yield of Camellia oleifera stand with different age in different slope were reached at different optimal stand density,respectively.In General,the older the stand age was,the lower the optimal density existed by comparing optimal density of different age and the greater the slope was,the lower the optimal density existed.In the flat slope(0-5°),when Camellia oleifera stand with age of 1-10,the optimal density from big to small was Changlin 4(182 strains/667m2),Changlin 27(176strains/667m2),Dabieshan 1(150 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 2(149 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 3(145strains/667m2)and Changlin 8(144strains/667m2);When Camellia oleifera stand with age of 10-15,the optimal density from big to small was Changlin 4(118strains/667m2),Changlin 27(113strains/667m2),Dabieshan 1(89 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 3(87strains/667m2),Dabieshan 2(85strains/667m2)and Changlin 8(84strains/667m2);When Camellia oleifera stand with age of 15-20,the optimal density from big to small was Changlin 4(96 strains/667m2),Changlin 27(89 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 1(88strains/667m2),Dabieshan2(80strains/667m2)5Dabieshan 3(69strains/667m2)and Changlin 8(67 strains/667m2);When Camellia oleifera stand with more than 20,the optimal density from big to small was Changlin 4(79 strains/667 m2),Changlin 27(76 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 1(75 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 2(64 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 3(63 strains/667m2)and Changlin 8(61 strains/667m2);In the slope site(15-20°),when Camellia oleifera stand with age of 1-10,the optimal density from big to small was Changlin 27(127strains/667m2),Dabieshan 1(119strains/667m2),Dabieshan 2(116 strains/667m2),Dabieshan 3(111 strains/667m2),Changlin 4(107strains/667m2)and Changlin 8(106 strains/667m2);When Camellia oleifera stand with age of 15-20,the optimal density from big to small was Changlin 27(97strains/667m2)?Dabieshan 2(93strains/667m2),Dabieshan 1(90strains/667m2),Changlin 8(89strains/667m2),Dabieshan 3(88 strains/667m2)and Changlin 4(81strains/667m2);When Carrmellia oleifera stand with age of 15-20,the optimal density from big to small was Dabieshan 1(85 the optimal density with different varieties of Camellia oleifera showed that the bigger branching angle was,the smaller the optimal density existed.In other words,The relationship of branching angle and the optimal density with different varieties of Camellia oleifera obeyed y=ax/(x-b).And their relationship has nothing to do with the slope.(2)The relationship between the seed yield(y)and the LAI(x)in two kinds of slope all obeyed y=1/(a-bx+cx2)(R2=0.7909?0.9908),indicating that the seed yield would not increase with the increment of the LAI endlessly,however,the maximum seed yield was reached at the optimal LAI in different slope and different age,respectively.In the flat slope(0-5°),when Camellia oleifera stand with age of 1-10 9 the optimal LAI from big to small was Changlin 27(4.81),Changlin 4(4.79),Dabieshan 1(4.73),Dabieshan 3(4.64),Dabieshan 2(4.58)and Changlin 8(4.31);When Carmellia oleifera stand with age of 10-15,the optimal LAI from big to small was Changlin 8(5.18),Dabieshan 1(5.04),Changlin 4(4.86),Changlin 27(4.75),Dabieshan 3(4.55)and Dabieshan 2(4.38);When Camellia oleifera stand with age of 15-20,the optimal LAI from big to small was Changlin 8(4.97),Dabieshan 1(4.76),Dabieshan 3(4.51),Changlin 4(4.49),Changlin 27(4.32)and Dabieshan 2(4.25);When Camellia oleifera stand with more than 20,the optimal LAI from big to small was Dabieshan 3(4.30),Dabieshan 2(4.19),Changlin 4(4.17),Changlin 27(4.16),Dabieshan 1(4.14)and Changlin 8(3.57).In the slope site(15-20°),when Camellia oleifera stand with age of 1-10,the optimal LAI from big to small was Changlin 8(3.65),Changlin 27(3.38),Dabieshan 2(3.37),Dabieshan 3(3.36),Changlin 4(3.17)and Dabieshan 1(3.15);When Camellia oleifera stand with age of 10-15,the optimal LAI from big to small was Dabieshan 2(4.05),Dabieshan 3(3.95),Dabieshan 1(3.90),Changlin 4(3.88),Changlin 27(3.87)and Changlin 8(3.17);When Camellia oleifera stand with age of 10-15,the optimal LAI from big tosmall was Dabieshan 3(3.78),Dabieshan 1(3.75),Changlin 4(3.68),Changlin 27(3.64),Dabieshan 2(3.57)and Changlin 8(3.13);When Camellia oleifera stand with more than 20,the optimal LAI from big to small was Dabieshan 3(3.69),Dabieshan1(3.66),Dabieshan 2(3.31),Changlin 8(3.09),Changlin 4(3.06)and Changlin27(2.96).The research results showed that branching angle and the LAI had no obvious correlation.
