The Present Situation And The Control Strategy Of Yellow Camellia Diseases And Insect Pests In Nanning Jinhuacha Park

Yellow camellia is a group of species with yellow flower in Theaceae. Some diseases and insect pests on other plants of Theaceae can also damage them, while some unknown diseases and insect pests threat to yellow camellia too. After survey, six species of insect pests and a disease were found firstly on the yellow camellia, which were Prodenia litura, Planococcodes robustus, Lepidosaphes fubulorum, Hypomeces squamosus, Ricania speculum nymph, Chrysomphalus aonidum and cephaleuros vierescens. incidence of 25 Yellow cameliima investigated and resistance anthracnose experiments of 29 yellow camelia, showed that there are significant differences on resistance to anthracnose. Camellia tunghinensis, C. pingguoensis, C. chrysantha and C. liberofolmenta.were the highest resistant against anthracnose, which were not infected by Colletotrichum camellia in both natural survey and infection experiment indoor. However, C. achrysantha, C. fusuiensis and C. parvipetala were the lowest resistant to anthracnose, especially, the anthracnose incidence on C. parvipetala was 76% in field and C. parvipetala was seriously infected in inoculation experiment. This results may help yellow camellia selection and breeding on resistance to anthracnose. In this paper, integrative controlling strategy were proposed based on the result of investigation on yellow camellia diseases and insect pests, and the plant protection of yellow camellia was further prospected, thereby it will be helpful on healthy cultivation of yellow camellia and development of yellow camellia industry.
