The forest ecosystems as the biggest natural ecosystem, it has the most complex structure and the most complete ecological function, plays an important role in the global ecosystem. Forest ecosystems not only provide forest products and other material production for human, at the same time, also has many kinds of ecological service function. As an important ecological barrier of Zhejiang Province and the Yangtze River Delta, Huzhou forest ecosystem is of great significance for the maintenance of regional ecological security. Therefore, to carry out evaluation on the service function of Huzhou forest ecosystem, that spurred more deeply understanding the important role and value of forest ecosystem, improve people's awareness of forest ecological protection, provide a scientific basis for the development of Huzhou sustainable forest management policy and the construction of the ecological environment, and better maintenance and conservation of forest ecosystem service function, promote the region's economic and social sustainable development.This study on the basis of comprehensive analysis of the domestic and international forest ecological system service function evaluation research and forestry industry standard, according to the actual characteristics of the forest ecological system in Huzhou, consult opinion research experts and the forestry sector, to explore and construct the Huzhou forest ecosystem service function evaluation index system, including 8 first level indicators and 13 secondary indicators, and explained the function mechanism of these indexes. According to the local second class surveys' report of forest resource, social public data and combined with field investigation, using the direct market value method, substitute market method and contingent valuation method, we assessed the value of forest ecosystem service in Huzhou. The main results are as follows:(1)In 2008, the total value of forest ecosystem services in Huzhou was 216.98 billion Yuan a-1, and and its per-area value was 8.36 ten thousand Yuan hm-2.a-1.Forest ecosystem services value accounted for 20.97% of the GDP of the year in Huzhou, and is 13.58 times the output value of forestry in Huzhou. It is showed that the forest ecosystem not only provide forest products with direct economic benefits for people, but also has great ecological benefits, and ecological benefits are worth far more than its direct economic value.(2)Among the ecological service functions, production organic value is 0.122 billion yuan per year, water conservation value is 8.378 billion yuan per year, soil conservation value is 3.92 billion yuan per year, fixing carbon and releasing oxygen value is 6.109 billion yuan per year, the nutrient accumulation value is 0.659 billion yuan per year, the purification of atmospheric environment value is 0.901 billion yuan per year, protect biodiversity value is 1.299 billion yuan per year, forest recreation value is 3.12 billion yuan per year. The values of the ecosystem services were in the following order: water conservation>carbon fixation and oxygen released>soil conservation>biodiversity protection>atmospheric environment purification>nutrient accumulation>forest recreation>production of organic substance. The services value of water conservation, carbon fixation and oxygen release and soil conservation occupied 84.84% of the total, indicating that the three service is the main service function of forest ecosystem in Huzhou.(3)From the spatial distribution of forest ecosystem service value, Anji County forest ecosystem service function value was the highest and reached 10.507 billion yuan per year (48.36%), followed by the Changxing County 54.40 million yuan per year (25.04%), Deqing County 3.13 billion yuan per year (14.41%), Wuxing District 23.96 million yuan per year (11.03%), Nanxun district is the lowest, only 253 million yuan per year (1.16%). The value of forest ecosystem services in west counties (Angi and Changxing) is much higher than the eastern of Deqing, Wuxing, Nanxun county (District), indicating that the Huzhou forest ecosystem service function distribution is extremely uneven.(4)From the dynamic changes of forest ecosystem service value, between two periods of forest ecosystem services value has increased, indicating that during forest ecological system in Huzhou City, on the whole, showing a trend of healthy development, but counties (districts) dynamic change difference obviously, west of Anji County and the Changxing County service value is growing rapidly, while eastern districts of the city area and Deqing County service value is decreased.
