In this paper, the different slow-release fertilizers of kbs and jzd were used to compared with the abs to evaluate their effect on growth behavior(survival rates, plant heights and crown width et al.)of Photinia fraseri,Ligustrum japonicum ‘Howardii',Ligustrum sinense 'Variegatum',Nandina domestica ‘Hongye',Syringa meyeri var.spontanea ‘Palibin',Ilexcrenata ‘Golden Gem' and Chamaecyparis pisifera ‘Filifera Aurea Nana'.The results revealed that the abs could be substituted by the jzd with 4kg/m3 for container seedlings of Photinia fraseri and Ligustrum japonicum ‘Howardii' and with 3kg/m3 of jzd for Ligustrum sinense 'Variegatum'.The fertilizers of abs have significant effects to promote the growth of Nandina domestica ‘Hongye' and Syringa meyeri var.spontanea ‘Palibin' which can not be replaced by kbs due to the fertilizer damage effect. However, the abs could be replaced by kbs with 4kg/m3 for Ilexcrenata ‘GoldenGem' and Chamaecyparis pisifera ‘Filifera Aurea Nana' since both of them were insensitive to fertilizer damage. This study confirmed that the healthy growth can be guaranteed for most of investigated seedlings by using the optimum concentrations of domestic fertilizers to substitute the high cost imported abs,by which the high-quality,cost-effective seedling methods could be developed. This work is also expected to provide technical and theoretical support for large-scale factory bleedings.
