Corn is the main food crops in China, and its planting area is about 0.28 million hectares, ranking second in the world. Corn straw as an important by-product is a versatile renewable bioenergy, and has a wide range of usages, among which more than half of the photosynthesis of nutrients stored in the straw. Untreated corn stalks are usually loose and easy to damp mildew, which are not easy to collect, store and transport facilitate. The use of bundling machine can effectively solve the problems above. However, in the process of the operation of the machine, there are problems such as low efficiency of the operation, the main parameters of the parts and so on. In this paper, the development of round bales of straw balers had been studied to optimize the operating parameters of the machine, and improved the performance of the corn straw balers.In this paper, the author took the round bale tying machine as the research object. And the method of discrete element parameter calibration was used to calibrate the friction coefficient of the corn stalk, and the coefficient of restitution coefficient, and so on; a set of optimal working parameters was determined by discrete element simulation and bench test. Field validation tests carried out in accordance with the optimal set of working parameters, compared with the "Biomass feedstock pick up, smash and Bundled duplex operation means development " requirements of the subject,verified the group of working parameters is reasonable. The contents and results of this paper were as follows:1. The moisture content, angle of repose and other parameters of corn stalk were measured, using the discrete element method to simulate the maize straw accumulation Angle through EDEM software to get the coefficient of friction of the material of straw, restitution coefficient, etc.2. Using the discrete element simulation software EDEM was used Using to simulate the working process of baling machine The results were regressed and analyzed to get an optimal working parameters to make a bundle of high quality and large bundles of pressure.3. The self-built baling machine test-bed for bench test, and the torque sensors and force sensors were used to Record torque signals and force signals in the process of baling bander. After the baling, the quality of each bale was examined respectively. The author got a set of optimal working parameters through the analysis of test results, compared with the parameters obtained from the simulation.4. With reference of the circle of GB/T 14290-2008 field experiments on the test standard, the thesis examined examines the pickup of the baling machine, crushing and baling comprehensive operation effect. The test results showed that the binder performance met the "biomass straw material collecting, crushing and baling double entry device research and development" project requirements.
