The Effects Of Chinese Herbs On Canines Radius Healing

Fracture for domestic animal is a common clinical disease. After surgical intervention for the fracture, generally western anti-inflammatory and pain-reli medical dosages will be applied, utilize tradition Chinese medicine(TCM) treatment are very rare.Therefore, this study mainly investigate how Chinese herbal compound affect the radial bone healing, and to explore the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine to promote bone healing.12 Teddy dogs were selected as samples, all between18 to 38 months old, were randomly divided into four groups. Namely, western medicine(WM) group, Chinese herbal(CH) group, western medicine combined with Chinese herbal(WMH) group and the control(CG) group(null medical applied after surgical operation) respectively. After the 4groups of post-surgical on radial bone operated, experimental models were established, at2 w, 4w and 6w have testing scheduled. All samples has detect for blood biochemistry,forelimb imaging, histopathology, inflammatory factors etc.Western medicine combined with Chinese herbal(WCH) group and Chinese herbal(CH) group, both 1w and 2w after surgery, detected serum calcium, serum phosphorus,rapid increase into peak concentration level, differences between western medicine(WM)and control(CG) groups were significantly, alkaline phosphatase enzymes at 1w, 2w,4w,activity level in Western medicine group and TCM group, stayed at a high level, with significantly differences compared with WM group and the CG group.The combination of Chinese and Western medicine(WMH) and Western medicine(WM) group, leucocyte count after surgery has been steady, without the use of antimicrobial agents in the control(CG) group and Chinese herbal(CH) group, one week after surgery, leucocyte count increased rapidly, but the(CH) group decline another week after, also inflammation levels with the control group were varied significantly. Leucocytecount of WMH group is significantly lower than WM group.As illustrated both WMH group and CH group, 1w after surgery, the rate of absorption of the hematoma which, compared with WM group and CG group showed faster result,after 2w, 4w, 6w, the fiber callus formation, internal and external callus formation, callus forming and recanalization rates were higher than the WM group and CG group..WMH group and CH group, at 1w and 2w after surgery, TNF-α revealed inflammation inhibition, and WM group and CG group were significantly different.Histopathological tests of WM group and CM group in, which trabecular bone were neat array, cortical deletant has reduce, larger lamellar bone size, significantly better than WM group and CG group.The results show that the Chinese herbal compound can improved the level of serum calcium, serum phosphorus and serum alkaline phosphatase; certain inflammatory inhibition should have been embedded; compound Chinese medicine shows improved quality of callus and bone healing speed.
