Stimulative Effect Of External Application Of Chinese Medicine Herbs BaiJiGao On Animal Fracture Healing

Two test were performed to explore the effect of Chinese MedicinalHerbs on bone fracture healing: Testl, to evaluae the stimulative effect of external application of Chinese Medicine Herbs BaiJiGao on fracture healing, the bone defect moulds were built on rabbits' radius. Through estimating the serum calcium and phosphorum and ALP),observing the X-ray manifestation and local bone histological changes of bone fracture in different period, the objective evaluation of the effect of BaiJiGao was got on bone fracture healing; Test 2,the test is to promote the clinical application of BaiJiGao. After building the bone fracture internal fixation of tibia and femor on dogs, BaiJiGao was medicated externally on the bone fracture limb. Then the clinical effect of external application of BaiJiGao was evaluated by estimating the blood biondynamics parameter and observing the X-ray film. The test results are following:Test 1: The effect of external application of BaiJiGao to promote the bone fracture healing on mature rabbitsTwelve mature rabbits wre used to build moulds of radius defect. Then we performed the dynamic analysis of blood biondynamics parameter in every period, including blood serum calcium and serum phosphorum and serum ALP, and the dynamic histological changes and X-ray film was also observed. The result promoted that BaiJiGao could raise the blood serum calcium level and promote the premature arrival of its peak, make the blood serum phosphorum changes arrive ahead of schedule about 1 week, raise the ALP level and promote 1-week premature arrival of its peak; According to the dynamic histological changes of bone histological and X-ray film the following results could be induced: BaiJiGao has the action of stimulating the bone defect healing progress, because the experimental group was superior to the contuol group in organization of hematoma and bony collus formation and calcium salts deposition and bone trabecula restructive moulding.Test 2: The effect of external application of BaiJiGao to promote the bone fracture healing after internal fixation of tibia and femor on dogsThe moulds of internal fixation of tibia were build on 5 dogs and internal fixation of femor on 2 dogs, during the operation the DCP were used and BO's principles were followed, then BaiJiGao was applied externally. The clinical signs and the local changes of bone fracture were mainly investigated in the duration of test. Simultaneously the changing trend of blood serum calcium and serum phosphorum and serum ALP were regarded, which proved that BaiJiGao could raise their levels or stimulate their changes. And the evaluation of X-ray provided the more evidence to prove that the experimental dogs were superior to the control dogs in clinical manifestation and local bony recovery. The conclusion can be deduced that BaiJiGao has the action of improving blood ciuculation and removing swelling and analgesia . And the clinical healing time of fracture could be shortened about 1 week.
