Carbon Footprint analysis approach is adopted in this thesis to study the carbon sink function and ecological compensation standard of rice multiple cropping ecological management system, which is the typical rice production system of Hunan Province. This research has great significance for the establishment of the ecological compensation suggestions for rice production system in Hunan Province, which would promotes the healthy development of the rice industry in Hunan Province and even all over the world. The main results of the study are as follows:(1)The annual average carbon sequestration capacity of the double cropping rice ecosystem in rice-duck ecological management system is 8172.0kgC.hm-2 per unit area. Each time producing lkg dry matter, it is equivalent of fixing 0.621kg carbon. While the annual average carbon sequestration capacity of the double cropping rice ecosystem in rice-fish ecological management system is 7586.9C.hm-2 per unit area. Once producing 1kg dry matter, it equals fixing 0.607kg carbon.(2)While based on unit area, the early and late seaon's carbon sink in rice-duck ecological management system is 2105.83kgC/hm2 and 2674.29kgC/hm2 respectively. When it comes to the rice-fish ecological management system, the figure is 2044.72kgC/hm2 and 2555.10kgC/hm2. While based on the unit econimic output, the carbon sink of early season and that of late season in rice-duck eological management system is 0.335kgC/kg and 0.390kgC/kg. And the results turn to 0.343kgC/kg and 0.392kgC/kg in rice-fish ecological management system.(3)When based on unit area, we can figure out that the rice-duck management system needs to be compensated for 526.5 yuan per hectare in early season and 628.7 yuan per hetare in late season. The rice-fish ecological management system needs 511.2 yuan and 638.8 yuan respectively in early season and late season per hectare for compensation. And when based on unit economic output, the rice-fish ecological management system requires 0.0856 yuan per kilogram in early season and 0.0981 yuan per kilogram in late season for compensation. The quantity in rice-duck ecological system for early season and late season becomes 0.0837 yuan per kilogram and 0.0975 yuan per kilogram.
