In many parts of the tractor,differential is an important component of the tractor drive axle.It can change the direction of power which come from the central transmission,and to allocate the power to around half shaft and the drive wheels.Apparently,the form of the differential design have an effect on the handling stability of the tractor,and comfort directly.At present,The design and manufacture of tractor differential is still slow in China.How to improve the design and manufacture standard,to speed up the development process.It is still need to be solved in China.Supported by Mahindra Yueda(Yan Cheng)co.Ltd,the Huanghai Jinma 300 E tractor differential is analyzed in this paper.After reading a large number of references,by using modern mechanical design method,and with the help of three-dimensional modeling software(UG)and ANSYS Workbench software to study.The main content are as follows:(1)Knowing about Huanghai Jinma 300 E tractor overall structure and performance parameters of some main components.Combined with 2-D assembly drawing provided by the company.Using UG three-dimensional modeling software to establish three-dimensional entity model of tractor differential,mainly includes:half shaft gear?planetary gear and differential shell model.At the same time,the solid models are built in UG according to the principle of simplification.(2)Simplified three-dimensional model is imported to ANSYS Workbench software to establish the finite element model,mainly including:finite element model of half shaft gear?finite element model of planetary gear?finite element model of differential planetary gear shell and finite element model of gear teeth.(3)By using ANSYS Workbench to solve out bending strength analysis of half shaft gear and planetary gear tooth root and the statics analysis of differential shell.and obtain the corresponding stress contours.Through the stress contours to analyse the stiffness and strength of all parts of the shell to test differential whether it is reasonable,and provide the basis for the optimization of differential shell.(4)By using ANSYS Workbench to carry out the modal analysis of two gears and shell,and Get the natural vibration frequency and modal figure of top ten modals.Compared the natural frequencies of the gear with the natural frequencies of shell value to judge the differential whether it is resonant.(5)By using ANSYS Workbench to carry out the fatigue life of differential shell,and get the safety factor contour.Analysing the safety contours,we know that fatigue design meet the requirements in this type of casing.(6)Based on topology optimization and size optimization of casing.It is found that only small part of shell need to be removed.And there is no effect on cost of company whether remove the part of the material or not.During the Shell size optimization,according to the optimal solution which calculated by the computer,two shell thickness are modified and obtain the Simplified model.The simplified model of the optimized statics analysis and modal analysis are carried out again to verify the rationality of the optimization results.
