Wheat midge genus, belongs to Diptera Cecidomyiidae, fall into two categories Sitodiplosis mosellana.Gehin and Contarinia tritici.Kirby, and the main category is Sitodiplosis mosellana.Gehin.Wheat midge genus broke out in 1950 s and 1980 s,and a renewed bout has coming in 2011 in Shaanxi. However, the distribution area, regularity of outbreak, optimum period for control and termiticides of Sitodiplosis mosellana.Gehin are not known very well in Shaanxi. Therefore,in this study, the distribution area and regularity of outbreak were investigated by clean out the soil method, and optimum period for control and termiticides of Sitodiplosis mosellana were determined through field trials. The main results were given as follows:1.The distribution area of Sitodiplosis mosellana.Gehin is large and broad involving weihe and yuangguan;resend area is concentrated, which is distributed by “Dens shape”.2.The quantity of unearthed Sitodiplosis mosellana.Gehin, percentage of pupation and the emergence rate have to do with the nature of weather patterns, but are consistent with the process of wheat growth and development.3.The field efficiency test of the insecticide showed that 10% imidacloprid WP,40% Dursban EC,25g/L lambda-cyhalothrin EC and 4.5% beta-cypermethrin EC have control effect, with the control effect more than 50%.4.The prevention and control technology is determined that system monitoring, spike period protection and chemical prevention with grading.Meanwhile, the prevention and control technology has been popularized and demonstrated in Shaanxi. These results can provide the basis of the theory and practice of the control of Sitodiplosis mosellana in Shaanxi, meanwhile,it can also provide reference for other districts.
