Sitodiplosis mosellana(Géhin)is a class of worldwide destructive pest, which bursts into disaster for many times in our country in the past few years. While, S.mosellana has become an vital agricultural pest affecting the wheat yield of Baoding city, Hebei providence, China, due to several reasons, such as climate, the altered patterns of cultivation and planting, poor forecast system, and the biological characteristics of S. mosellana. Here, we conducted several researches to achieve the wheat yield with high production, high quantity, and high efficiency during the period of occurrence of S. mosellana in 2014. We systematically supervised the occurrence regularity of S. mosellana in Baoding, performed researches on the factors affecting occurrence of S. mosellana and prediction of S. mosellana, and optimized and improved the integrated plan of prevention and treatment for S. mosellana in Baoding based on the test of pesticide effectiveness. The main results are as follows:1. The acme of pupation of S. mosellana was occurred from the middle of April to the end of May and the eclosion period peaked from 27 th to 30 th of April with bimodal phase, which was consistent with previous studies. Our study was performed in Baoding city in 2014, results showed that the cocoons of S. mosellana began to pupate when the wheat was booting in early April. The eclosion of S. mosellana peaked at the end of April with a partial of S. mosellana still in cocoon, when the wheat was in blooming stage. The adults of S. mosellana sharply decreased when blooming stage was finished in May 3rd, and transiently increased in the middle of May. Then, the cocoons of S. mosellana bounced into soil and began to over summing in yellow ripening stage of wheat in the end of May. Interestingly, the bimodal phase of S. mosellana was arisen in Xushui country, Baoding city, Hebei provience this year.2. The close interactions of occurrence regularity of S. mosellana adult with temperature, humidity, and the grown of wheat. The relationship of occurrence regularity of S. mosellana adult with temperature and humidity: Results shown that the eclosion peaked in the situation of the relative air humidity was greater than 60% more than a week and the mean temperature variation was 18℃-20℃ in five days. While, it was bad for eclosion when the relative air humidity was lower than 60% more than a week and the mean temperature variation was greater than 20℃ in five days. The relationship of occurrence regularity of S. mosellana adult with the grown ofwheat: S. mosellana began to eclosion at the early blooming stage of wheat, when the height of wheat tended to stabilization. The eclosion of S. mosellana peaked in consensus with the blooming stage of wheat, which was the key factor of increasing damage of S. mosellana in Baoding these years.3. Yellow plate was most in favor of collection of adult S. mosellana. The altitude of yellow plate affected the consequence of trapping of S. mosellana in the field, thus, the altitude of yellow plate should be changed with the stage of growth of wheat.Comparing with three approaches for controlling S. mosellana of netting, visual inspection, and sticky trap, the sticky trap method was suitable for the prediction of S. mosellana. In addition, the trends of prediction were consistence when the sticky traps color were yellow and purple, and the yellow trapped the largest quantity of S. mosellana. Results showed that it captured the largest quantity of adult S. mosellana when the sticky traps altitude was 0-15 cm during the period of peaked eclosion to mid of eclosion. And the best effects got when the altitude of sticky trap was 60-75 cm at the end of eclosion. The analysis of the correlation of captured ratio in different altitude with plant height found that the main scope of adults of S. mosellana varied with growth period and height of wheat. The adult S. mosellana transferred to panicle when the height of wheat tended to be stable.4. The plan for chemical protection: The poisoned soil spread in the field when S. mosellana was in pupate stage, and spraying protection was conducted in early of heading, which would get the best result. We conducted single control of spreading poisoned soil in pupate stage and double treatments of spreading poisoned soil in pupate stage and spraying in heading time as secondary protection with unprotected filed as control. The result of single control indicated that 25% pymetrozine WP achieved outstanding effect, and 30% chlorpyrifos EC had obvious increased yield of wheat. The double treatments were superior to single control for yield increasing effect in returning green stage-jointing stage. To get a better effect of protection, we recommended that secondary prevention conducted in adult occurrence period of S. mosellana on the base of the control in pupal stage of S. mosellana.
