Stephaniti schinensis(Drake),an important pest in tea areas of southwestern China, distributed mainly in Sichuan,Chongqing,Guizhou.S.schinensis invaded and has been the major pest of tea trees Shaanxi District of tea plantation in 2010.This paper studied the occurrence regularity and influencing factors of S.schinensis, and sticky traps were selected to explore the effects of five different colors and heights against S.chinensis, and the toxicities of seven pesticides to the nymphs of S.chinensis were determined by leaf-dipping tests in laboratory and field experiments were applied at the same time.Aimed to accurately forecast and scientific control of S.chinensis, provide the basis for effective prevention and treatment.Main results of this study are as follows. There were two or three generations each year, high altitude tea garden was two generation, and low altitude tea garden was three generations.Egg hatched in later March. The nymphs are peak in mid-May and end of early June. The adults are peak in later March and end of Mid-July.Overwintering eggs could survive on leaf until late October or early November.Statistical analysis showed, the number of S.schinensis in the tea garden of Ziyang variety significantly higher than Fuding variety(P<0.05).The number of S.schinensis on sunny slope significantly higher than shady slope(P<0.05).The number of S.schinensis on the tensive management significantly higher than secondary or extensive management level, secondary management significantly higher than extensive management level(P<0.05).Slope and management level significantly influenced the number of S.schinensis.And interaction of slope and management level have not significantly influence. The trapping effect of yellow sticky traps was significantly higher than the other colors, and the trapping effect at 15 cm below tea trees crown was significantly better than the other heights.Cypermethrin was the least toxicity in seven insecticides by the leaf-dipping test, with LC50 values of 580.57 mg/L.The toxicity of bifenthrin, deltamethrin, acetamiprid,Imidacloprid,Thiamethoxam,Abamectin toxicity was 159.50,22.42,17.31,11.45,10.94 and 7.88 times of cypermethrin virulence respectively.112.5 g/hm2 of imidacloprid,90 g/hm2 of acetamiprid,112.5g/hm2 of thiamethoxam,7.5g/hm2 of bifenthrin can be utilized in emergency when nymph of S.chinensis severely occur.Yellow sticky traps and pesticides can be coordinately used as one of the efficient control methods againts S.chinensis.
