Silicon,as a beneficial element to plant's growth,plays an important role in the process of stress tolerance and increase yield in many crops,especially in rice.But at present the application of silicon fertilizer has not been noticed.Moreover,nano-silica as a new type of silicon fertilizer,its application is rarely reported.In this paper,the effect of nano-silicon on rice structure and physiological resistance and on rice yield was studied by using nano-silica.The main findings are as follows:(1)Under the experimental conditions of different silicon fertilizers(silicate and nano-silica)and different fertilization modes(leaf and root application),silicon treatment significantly increased the area of wart-like proemission and the number of siliceous cells per unit area,but it affects the size of siliceous cells insignificant.The most obvious one is that the effect of root-applied nano-silicon fertilizer on the surface silicification of rice leaves,and the effects on the wart-like proemission and siliceous cells were extremely significant.(2)In the process of senescence in detached leaf,the application of nano-silicon fertilizer had significant influence on MDA content and SOD and CAT activities.In the experiment group,the content of MDA increased in different periods,and the activities of SOD and CAT were enhanced in different periods.The results indicated that silicon could enhance the resistance of rice leaves to senescence,and plays an important role in rice anti-aging.(3)It was confirmed again in this context that the application of silicon fertilizer had a positive effect on the increase of rice yield.The increasing of rice yield reaches the maximum effect specially when using the silicon fertilizer in the whole growth period of rice.And the content of chlorophyll and the photosynthetic capacity were enhanced with the spraying of nano-silicon on leaves,moreover,it promoted the transfer of silicon to rice panicles.At the same time,the experiment also shows that silicon fertilizer cannot completely replace the pesticide which plays the role in disease prevention and control.In conclusion,the results show that nano-silicon fertilizer can not only improve the silicification effect on the surface structure of rice leaf,but also regulate the physiological function to enhance the anti-aging ability in the process of leaf senescence,also improve the yield of rice in a certain at the same time.
