In the past, the geographic information system (GIS) is mainly used in the establishment of spatial database and mapping, and the spatial analysis of GIS core is not much. One of the important reasons is the lack of theoretical guidance and technical guidance for the theoretical guidance and technical guidance of the geographical calculation and geographical calculation. Therefore, it is suitable for the processing of large data, data mining and knowledge discovery, to play the role of spatial decision support of geographic data.In this paper, the theory and application of geographic computing are summarized, and the algorithm of polygon clipping is studied and improved. the method of acquiring the information of cultivated land is based on the research of geography. In order to be able to quickly obtain information of cultivated land "region of interest" on the basis of evaluation of cultivated land fertility existing database. The main results are as follows:1. The basic framework of geographic computing is studied. This paper expounds the research of geography, from the concept, application development, calculation principle, calculation method and so on.2. The polygon clipping algorithm in GIS algorithm is studied in order to obtain the information of cultivated land in the region of interest, Based on the Weiler-Atherton algorithm, the paper puts forward the concept of generalized entry point according to the research results of domestic scholars. The algorithm is improved, and the failure of special cases in Weiler-Atherton algorithm is realized.3. In the integrated environment of Studio Visual, the program is based on Engine ArcGIS. It can be in the "map window" in the outline of any polygon to obtain the "interested area" in the arable land information.4. In this paper, the model of cultivated land geography is established, which can be added to other geographical model, so it can realize the automation, the process and the intelligence of the cultivated land.
