Since 1760 the Industrial Revolution had began,the vicissitudes of time that not only affected manufacturing and business but also brought about lots of social and ecological changes such as disafforestation and global warming.Forest as the largest ecosystem and the largest carbon stock on land,has a great influence on global carbon cycle ecosystem.Karst region had a specifically ecological character than the other landscape,Estimation of the carbon storage and ecosystem biomass can provide basic data for Guiyang karst region pine forests management.In this study,I chose three different type of pine forests:18-year-old natural masson pine?MP,Pinus massoniana?;19-year-old MP plantation,and the 20-year-old slash pine?SP,Pinus elliottii?plantation at forest farm in Longli county in Guiyang city,which belongs to Karst region.I investigated carbon storage and ecosystem biomass to study the different carbon sequestration parttens of conifer forests.The result showed that:1.Biomass of overstory vegetation was:the natural MP forest was 103.37 t·hm-2,of which the aboveground biomass was 91.42 t·hm-2 accounted for 88.44%in the total forest biomass,and the underground biomass was 11.95 t·hm-2 accounted for 11.56%in the total forest biomass.In MP plantation,the biomass was 140.45 t hm-2,in which the aboveground biomass was 127.23 t·hm-2 accounted for 90.59%in the total forest biomass and the underground biomass was 13.22 t·hm-2 accounted for 9.41%in the total forest biomass;the SP plantation was 164.04 t·hm-2 in total biomass accumulation,in which the aboveground biomass was 148.96 t·hm-2 accounted for 90.81%in the total forest biomass and the underground biomass was 15.08 t·hm-2 accounted for 9.19%in the total forest biomass.This showed a pattern of biomass of overstory vegetation distribution that the aboveground part accounted for around 90%of total forest biomass,whereas the underground part accounted for only around 10%.The trunk biomass of MP natural forest(66.31 t·hm-2)accounted for 64.148%in the total forest biomass;the MP plantation(80.81 t·hm-2)accounted for 57.53%in total biomass;the SP plantation(125.16 t·hm-2)accounted for 76.298%in the total forest biomass.The pattern showed that the trunk always had highest biomass comparing to other organs of the trees.2.Biomass of shrub layer vegetation had a great different,nature MP forest was 5.126 t·hm-2;4.303 t·hm-2 in MP plantation,and 6.228 t·hm-2 in slash pine,repectively;The data showed that different type forest had very different shrub layer biomass,because the canopy density affect the shrub plant community and diversity.3.Biomass of hebaceous layer vegetation was(1.15 t·hm-2)in natural MP forest>(0.88 t·hm-2)in MP plantation>?0.84 t hm"?2 in SP plantation.4.Biomass of litter layer was:'(1.81 t·hm-2)in MP plantation>(1.56 t·hm-2)in SP plantation>(1.49 t· hm-2)in natural MP,repectivly.5.Biomass of the forest was:(172.66 t·hm-2)in SP plantation>(147.45 t·hm-2)in MP plantation>?111.13 t hm'2?in natural MP,repectivly.6.The average carbon content of arborous layer vegetation were:0.46 gC·g-1,0.52 gC g-1,0.46 gC·g-1 in natural MP,MP plantation and SP plantation,repectivly whitch indicated that different types of forest influenced the carbon content.7.Arborous layer carbon storage of different forest type was(83.77 t·hm-2)in SP planatation>(67.27 t·hm-2)in MP plantation>(43.1 t·hm-2)in natural MP forest.and,The order trunk carbon storage was account for above 50%of total stand carbon storage,trunk carbon storage was significantly higher than the other two stands.The aboveground carbon storage of three forest accounted for more than 86%of total stand carbon storage.8.Carbon storage of shrub layer vegetation was:(0.78 t hm-2)in SP plantation>(0.75 t·hm-2)in natural MP forest>(0.6 t·hm-2)in MP plantation;Carbon storage of hebaceaous layer vegetation was:(0.89 t·hm-2)in SP plantation>(0.16 t·hm-2)in natural MP forest>?0.09 t·hm2?in MP plantation;Carbon storage of litter layer was?0.74 t hm'2?in SP plantation>(0.67 t·hm-2)in natural MP forest>?0.66 t hm'2?in MP plantation;.The data showed different type of forest and canopy density affected the carbon storage of undergrowth vegetation.9.Organic carbon storage of three different forest soil was62.92 t·hm-2 in natural MP forest,75.57 t·hm-2 in MP plantation,and 75.70 t·hm-2in SP plantation.The SP plantation soil shoewed the highest organic carbon storage.10.The total carbon storage across three forest sites were:111.78 t·hm-2in natural MP forest;142.01 t·hm-2 in MP plantation;152.88 t·hm-2in SP plantation.11.The distribution order of three different forest ecosystem carbon storage were:soil layer>vegetation layer>litter layer,in which soil layer carbon storage accounted for around 50%of total ecosystem carbon storage.Thus it indicated that the soil layer in forest had a very important position in land carbon stocks.
