An experiment was carried out to study the variation of ecological stoichiometry characteristics with latitude gradient. In the experiment,we selected soil and leaves in natural broad-leaved Pinus koraiensis and measured the content of carbon(C),nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P)and calcium(Ca)in them. The chemical characteristics of soil and leaves was discussed by employing the single factor analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analysis. The results showed that:(1)Chemical characteristics of C,N,P and Ca in Korean pine leaves showed significant difference with the latitude.Among which, the difference of N(14.42 mg/g)and Ca(3.25mg/g)in Korean pine leaves was significant, but the difference of C(495.50-507.36 mg/g),P(1.09-2.11 mg/g)and C/N(43.52),C/P(348.81),N/P(9.91)was not significant.(2)The content of C(42.32 mg/g),N(3.25 mg/g),P(0.51 mg/g),Ca(0.05 mg/g)and C/N(12.58),C/P(83.49),N/P(6.47)in soil of Pinus koraiensis showed significant difference along with latitude. And the chemical characteristics of different soil layers showed significant difference.(3)Latitude had little influence on the content of C,N,P,Ca and stoichiometric ratio of Korean pine leaves. The content of C,N and P in soil was statistically significant different in Pinus koraiensis forest along with the latitude. And each layer of soil stoichiometry were consistent with latitude.Content of C and C/N,C/P increased with latitude, while the N,P,Ca and N/P in soil did not change significantly with latitude.(4)The contents of C,N,P,Ca and C/N,C/P,N/P were significantly higher than that of soil.N in leaf showed significant correlation with C content,C/N of soil, and the P of that significantly correlated with P,the C/P of leaf was significantly negatively correlated with total P of soil, but C/P and N/P of leaf were significantly positively correlated with C/P and N/P of soil. The correlation between leaf and soil Ca was not significant. The ratio of soil C,N and P had a great influence on the growth of Pinus koraiensis.(5)The contents of C,N,P and Ca in upper soil were significantly positive correlate with that of sub surface soil and the value of that were significantly higher than sub surface soil. The contents of C,N,P and Ca in soil decreased with the depth of soil.
