Analysis Of Volatile Components In Sunflower Cultivars With Different Resistance To Sunflower Moth And Their Effects On The Sex Attractant | | Posted on:2018-09-11 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:L L Hou | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2323330518455955 | Subject:Agricultural Entomology and Pest Control | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | European sunflower moth,Homoeosoma nebulellum Hubner,as the most serious pest on sunflower head and seeds,caused the serious yield loss and quality decline.Based on the former researches in our lab,the resistant oil accession of S31 and the susceptible confectionery accession of 3638C were chosen to be sUidied in this thesis.The volatile components in sunflower cultivars with different resistance to suhflower moth before and after damaged by sunflower moth were analyzed and identified using the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),and then the olfactory behavioral responses of antenna of sunflower moth were carried on in lab.The effect of main volatile components from sunflower plants on sex pheromone of sunflower moth was further studied on field.The results will provide a basis for improving the performance of sex pheromone and exploring new ways to adjust the behavior of sunflower moth by pheromones.1.The volatiles from sunflower head were identified with terpenoid compounds as the main components accounting for above 90%of whole contents,and with a few amount of alcohols,heterocyclic compounds,alkanes and easters.Before damaged by sunflower moth,terpenoid compounds and total relative content in resistant oil accession of S31 were less than that in susceptible confectionery accession of 3638C.Moreover,9 different kinds of compounds were identified in S31.The relative contents in compounds of beta-pinene、ethanol and bornyl acetate were higher in S31 than that in 3638C.After damaged by sunflower moth,the number of terpenoid compounds and the relative amount of esters increased in volatile components from sunflower head.Meanwhile,six new compounds were induced to produce after damaged by sunflower moth.The relative contents in compounds of camphene and calarene was significantly increased,while the relative contents of limonene,γ-terpinene and terpinolene were significantly reduced and the compounds of butyl butyrate was disappeared in 3638C.2.According to the volatile analysis from different resistance sunflower cultivars,three main components of butyl butyrate,bornyl acetate and limonene at different concentrations of 0.1μL/ml、1μL/mL、10μL/mL、102μL/mL、103μL/mL were selected to carry on the olfactory response to the antenna of male sunflower moths,respectively.Each single component and two components mixture in a certain proportion at high concentration(103μL/mL)showed extremely significant or significant repellent effects on the male sunflower moths.With the decrease of the concentration of butyl butyrate,bornyl acetate,a mixture of butyl butyrate and bornyl acetate,a mixture of bornyl acetate and limonene and a mixture of butyl butyrate and limonene,the responses of male sunflower moths showed to be from repellent to attractive,and then gradually to be no obvious reaction.In addition to high concentration(103 μL/mL),there was no significant effects of limonene on male adults,The mixture of three volatile components showed a significant attractive effect on the male adults of sunflower moth at moderate concentration(10μL/mL).3.In the field trapping test,each of three single components of butyl butyrate,bornyl acetate and limonene at different concentration was not attractive to sunflower moths when applied separately;whereas each of three single components combined with sex attractant lured the different numbers of sunflower moths which were less than numbers of that lured by single sex attractant.Except for butyl butyrate at 103μL/mL and limonene at 0.1μL/mL,the mixture of each compound at different concentration with sex attractant lured significantly less moths than that in sex attractant alone.respectiveiy.Therefore,the adding of each plant volatile component to the sex attractantsignificantly inhibited its attraction to male sunflower moths.Meanwhile,with the concentration of butyl butyrate increased,the inhibiting effects on the orientation of sunflower moth to sex attractant decreased:with the concentration of limonene increased,the inhibiting effect increased;but there was no obvious relationship between the the concentration of bornyl acetate and its inhibiting effect on sex attractant. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Sunflower volatiles, Resistance, Butyl butyrate, Bornyl acetate, Limonene, Sex attractant of sunflower moth, Inhibiting effect | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
