Grape is the important economic crop for making wine,eating and other use.In this paper,we choose Frontenac and its variants Frontenac Gris and Frontenac Blanc as materials and compare them with the amur grape and red grape which are suitable for local cultivation.According to the comparison,we study its biological characteristic,ecological adaptability,disease and cold resistance and evaluate the quality of its wine.The results are as followed.1.By the systematic research and analysis on growth,phenological phase,the character and development of the fruit,we think that the Frontenac and its variants are suitable for Inner Mongolia.2.The research of disease resistance shows that the infection rate and index of these three grapes are both zero,so these three breeds are very strong in disease resistance.3.Measuring the conductivity rate of wine grapes in different low temperature,we find Frontenac has the strong cold resistance that follows the amur grape,and the cold resistance of the two variants is weak,the red grape has the weakest.4.The study of the wine quality of Frontenac and its variants shows the color,the taste and the smell get the optimum,meanwhile,the physical and chemical indexes are excellent,and the comprehensive evaluation is higher than the amur grape.So using Frontenac and its variants to brew wine has the good potential and quality advantage.
