A Study On The Weather Forecast In Liang Zhangju's Agricultural Miscellaneous Accounts In The Qing Dynasty

Since ancient times, the agricultural meteorological proverbs play a vital role in the production and life of Chinese people. Agricultural miscellaneous accounts written by Liang Zhangju in the Qing Dynasty is a type of monthly agricultural book.The book consists of more than 40 thousand words, is divided into four volumes:Volume One includes the monthly prognostication from weather observation for twelve months.Volume Two to Volume four respectively list the proverbs of astronomical phenomena?visible phenomena and even weather phenomena like plants and insects as well as climate change which were mostly extracted from the previous writings. The book is mainly based on the quotations and notes on southern farming activities, properly quoting copiously from many sources when referring to zhanyanzhe and it is unique because of some local proverbs from Fujian.On the basis of the basic theory of proverbs in Agricultural miscellaneous accounts and by combining scientific theories, this paper makes a scientific proof of the relevant proverbs,and makes a complete study of proverbs in the field of weather forecast in this book.The systematic research for Agricultural miscellaneous accounts in modern times is rare therefore, I analyzed the study of China's ancient agricultural meteorological proverbs since twentieth Century in the introduction part, pointed out the overall research of the modern agriculture proverb.The first chapter researches how Agricultural miscellaneous accounts forms into a book and its author, editions, and introduces the characteristics of the style :a style of arrangement greatly inherited the historical advantages,which is very complete. It can be said that the style of Agricultural miscellaneous accounts is the most mature with its counterpart.It represents the peak of the ancients weather accounted for syndromes, reflecting people's views and opinions towards weather.The third chapter studies forecasting of the weather-related proverbs.Different meteorological phenomena have different characteristics. In this chapter, four kinds of astronomical proverbs that are about "day","month","star" and "river" are scientifically explained and proved.All of these chapters use scientific principles to reason and explain the proverb one by one.
