Research On The Plant Selection And Arrangement Of Health Care Nursing Homes

Aging of population is an important social issue in our country at present,the growth of old people's quantity caused the increased demand of old-age care institutions.The quality of institutions is uneven.Most of them can provide just the essential and materially guarantee for the aged,neglect the construction of external environment,let alone to promote old people's physical and psychological health by environment.In recent years,health garden is rising and developing gradually.To combine health garden with landscape design of nursing homes,and play a role of plant landscape is imperative.The method of literature review,case analysis,field investigation and so on was used in this paper.The significance of combining nursing homes with health garden was expounded at first.Principle of plant arrangement and design and mode of plant arrangement was discussed.A series of ideology that can used in the landscape was summarized through analyzing Chinese health culture's correlation theory about landscape construction,such as moderation,suitability,internal and external environment's balance of Confucianism;quiet of Buddhist;nature and inaction of Taoists;yin-yang balance of Physician;essence,vital breath and the congruent relationship between the five elements and the five internal organs,etc.Landscape's health care function was discussed in order to provide basis to the select and application of plants.Successful cases from domestic and overseas about health garden were studied,and experience used for reference in nursing homes' environment virescence was extracted from it.Secondly,the correspondence between the five elements regimen and plant arrangement was discussed according to plants' color,shape,seasonal change,health care function about viscera of people and so on.And demand of the aged,their family members and nursing personnels in the nursing homes was analyzed.Principle of plant selection and arrangement about health nursing homes was summarized by combining demand of people with relevant theory of health garden.Finally,it was applied to the Aged Center of Shandong Shengshi Qiandao Village's plant landscape transformation.Aged Center's functional area was divided and the landscape was transformed based on the analysis of plant application status of Aged Center adequately,proceed from old people's physiological and psychological demand,according to preservation theory of the five elements,combined Chinese health culture and correspondence between plant and the five elements.It was divided into five areas,including heart-nourishing garden(area of fire),liver-nourishing garden(area of timber),spleen-nourishing garden(area of soil),lung-nourishing garden(area of gold),kidney-nourishing garden(area of water).Concept of health was blended in every area's orientation,color,the selection and allocation of plant,and the installation of correlative garden ornaments.Ultimately it will be a comprehensive nursing home gathered landscape,ecology,health care,product and culture.The author hopes to provide reference for health garden's construction and blend Chinese traditional health culture into nursing homes' landscape building through this paper.
