To establish the chemical regulation technology of water-saving and drought resistance in winter wheat,in the field experiment, take Yunong 211 as test material, the effects of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid(seed dressing 5mmol·L-1,spray application 0.25 mmol·L-1)on physiological reaction ? nitrogen metabolism and yield formation of wheat under drought stress were studied in2015-2016.Besides,in hydroponic conditions, the effects of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid(0.25 mmo L·L-1)on physiological change of wheat under PEG water-stress were studied. The results of the studies are listed as follows:1.In hydroponic conditions, drought stress reduced the root length?plant height and the chlorophyll content, exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid treatment could improve the root length ? plant height and the chlorophyll content to some extent, indicating that the application of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid could alleviate the inhibiting effect of drought stress on wheat and enhance the growth of wheat.Under normal conditions, the effects of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid on wheat seedlings were not obvious.2.In hydroponic conditions, after the treatment of 24h?48h and 72 h,drought stress increased the content of proline in wheat seedling leaves significantly, which declares that drought stress caused harm to wheat. The content of proline in wheat seedling leaves reduced significantly with the treatment of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid, indicating that exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid could effectively alleviate the damage on wheat caused by drought stress.Under normal conditions, the effects of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid on proline of wheat seedling leaves are irregular;Drought stress reduced the content of soluble protein in wheat seedling leaves significantly,The content of soluble protein in wheat seedling leaves increased significantly with the treatment of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid comparing with the drought control, which indicated that exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid could adjust the osmotic adjustment ability of wheat.Under normal conditions, the effects of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid on the content of soluble protein of wheat were not obvious.Under field experiment, the change law of proline content and soluble protein content in wheat flag leaf is consistent with the results in hydroponic conditions.3.In hydroponic conditions, drought stress significantly decreased the GS and NR activity in seedling leaves of wheat, exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid treatment could increase the GS activity and NR activity of wheat comparing with the drought control significantly, indicating that the application of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid could improve the nitrogen metabolism of wheat, alleviate the inhibiting effect of drought stress on wheat.Under normal conditions, the effects of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid on GS activity and NR activity in wheat seedling leaves were not obvious.Under field experiment, the change law of GS and NR activity in wheat flag leaf is consistent with the results in hydroponic conditions.4.Under field experiment, with the advancement of productive period, the dry matter quantity of wheat increased, the drought stress coursed by limited irrigation reduced the dry matter quantity of wheat, which is lower than in control group. The treatment of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid increased the dry matter quantity of wheat in various periods comparing with the drought control, and alleviate the inhibition of drought stress on wheat growth. But under normal condition, the effects of exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid on the dry matter quantity of wheat were not obvious.5.Under field conditions, drought stress significantly decreased the yield of wheat, exogenous propionic acid and butyric acid treatment could significantly improve the yield and 1000-grain weight of wheat, and also could improve the spike numbers and grain number per spike of wheat to a certain extent;while exogenous propionate and butyrate treatment also increased the maximum grain filling rate and average grain filling rate of wheat, ultimately promoted the yield of wheat under drought stress.
