Study On Shade-tolerance Of Six Indoor Ornamental Plants

Clivia miniata?Schefflera octophylla?Ficus elastica?Sinocrassula indica?Anthurium andraeanum and Zygocactus truncatus were common indoor ornamental plants.Through different shading,we studied the change trend of the plant color,plant height,leaf structure,physiological indexes,photosuhthetic indexes etc.Test results showed that:(1)The change of leaf color:after different shading,leaf color of Clivia miniata?Schefflera octophylla?Ficus elastica?Sinocrassula indica and Hylocereus undatus gradually deepen with the deepening of shading.Stem color of Zygocactus truncatus also has the change trend as above.The change of plant height growth:in 20%full light,Schefflera octophylla and Anthurium andraeanum have the biggest height increment between the 4 diferent treatment conditions.In 40%full light,Clivia miniata and Ficus elastica have the biggest height increment between the 4 diferent treatment conditions.In full light,Sinocrassula indica and Zygocactus truncatus have the biggest height increment between the 4 diferent treatment conditions.(2)After after 3 months shading treatment,dry weight per unit area of Clivia miniata,Schefflera octophylla and Anthurium andraeanum increased with the degree of shade,and increased greatly.Ficus elastica has the highest dry matter content in the 70%full light.At the same time,Sinocrassula indica has the highest dry matter content in the full light.With the increase of shading degree,the water content per unit area of the 6 kinds of plants has a tendency to increase.Among them,the water content'increase of Sinocrassula indica is not obvious.The relationship between the leaf thickness and the shade environment of 5 kinds of plants is not obvious.The stomatal density increases with the increase of light intensity,and the stomatal size decreases with the increase of light intensity.(3)With the increase of shading,the content of chlorophyll a+b has an increasing trend.Among them,Clivia miniata?Schefflera octophylla?Anthurium andraeanum and Ficus elastica have a relatively content of chlorophyll a+b,between 0.50-1.83mg/g.Sinocrassula indica and Zygocactus truncates have a relatively low content of chlorophyll a+b,between 0.27-1.54mg/g.The value of chlorophyll a/b of the 6 plants decreased with the increasing of shading.(4)Under the condition of weak light,It is thought reducing the dark respiration rate,light saturation point and light compensation point,increasing the apparent quantum efficiency that Anthurium andraeanum and Schefflera octophylla adapt themselves to low light environment.So,they are able to bear shade strongly.Light compensation point,light saturation point and the apparent quantum rate of Clivia miniata and Ficus elastica were also reduced in different degrees with the increasing of shade degree.And these two kinds of plants have a certain ability to adapt to the light of 70%?-40%.The light saturation point and the maximum photosynthetic rates of Sinocrassula indica and Zygocactus truncates were gradually decreased with the increase of shading As a result,the ability of strong light utilizing was enhanced,but the ability of weak light utilizing was poor.
