| Radish(Raphanus sativus L.),a cruciferous cross-pollination a biennial plant with inflating root and high nutrition,is a kind of important routine vegetable crop in Zhejiang Province.Local varieties are important breeding original materials due to their high growing adaptability in local area and rich genotypes.This study collected 34 samples of farmers in radish varieties,the field experiment was carried out,and their agronomical traits and quality characters were investaged.Four local varieties with“Jianqiao Yinghong Radish”,“Lanxi Small Radish”,“Yidaozhong Radish”,and “Shanyu Hutian Radish” were identified adn evaluated and one varieties of “Xijing Yuanhong Radish” need to be reproducted and updated.Results will be benefit to germplasm protection of local radish varieties and breeding works.1.The statistics analysis on agronomical traits showed that the local radishes of Zhejiang have high variability due to their high variation coefficient(CV)(66.28 of leaf nerve colour,68.34% of root shape,91.03% of lateral roots,130.63% of root piquancy),and lots of significant correlation relationship(p<0.01)between agronomical traits are found,such as coefficient between leaf shape and leaf type,leaf length and plant heigh,lateral roots and root lubricity,and root basal shape and root length,with the correlation coefficienst were 0.855、0.826 and 0.822,respectively.2.Puncture analysis on fleshy roots showed that the texture of radish with different root color is large variation,size order of root bark toughness is purple root > red one>white one>pink one >green one.Significant correlation relationship(p<0.05)between agronomical traits and texture are found,such as the coefficient(r =-0.307)between root skin hardness and cuticle thickness.3.The nutritional quality of fleshy root(soluble solids,vitamin C,soluble solids dry sample,soluble sugar dry sample,protein dry sample)and glucosinolates were measured.The results showed that content of vitamin C is variant significantly with the rang of 9.89mg/100g~47.06mg/100 g and the CV of 45.96%.Seven glucosinolate components were detected,the total glucosinolates range is from5.3200 mg/g DM to 29.3700 mg/g DM.Nutritional quality and glucosinolates have significant correlation(p<0.01)with root agonomical traits,such as high coefficient between protein content(dried sample)and root upper skin color,soluble solids and root length,Neoglucobrassicin and basal skin color,Glucobrassicin and root color,Glucoalyssin and root bitterness,with corresponding coefficients of 0.533,-0.467,0.819,0.567 and 0.474.4.According to agronomical traits analysis and document investigation,21 local varieties of Zhejiang Province were identified primarily.During Identification of 4 local varieties and one updated variety,genetic separation and impurity were found among the traits of leaf type,root shape and color in the materials collected.By using single plant selection method to purification and reproduction,the local varieties keep original characteristics and heredity. |
