Yellow horn(Xanthoceras sorbifolium Bunge)is an important and Chinese native oil crop,which has been widely recognized by its great economic value.The oil of yellow horn provides human body with premium fatty acid,meanwhile it also being processed for biodiesel befittingly.In this case,increasing the production of oil and seeds of yellow horn is crucial and necessary.The way to increase yellow horn's production is choosing these plants with better quality of agronomic characters.The investigation chose 35 individual plant with similar conditions of growth and tree-age,which has no plant diseases and pests as well.The chosen materials distrubuted in three cities in Shandong Province including Weifang,Dongying and Linyi.In the investigation,there are 16 agronomic characters were measured and recorded,which including the characters of tree body,the fruit,the seed and nutrition.These recorded datas were analyzed by the software excel and SPSS 19.0,major conclusions are listed:1.The agronomic characters of the materials are variable widely.The crown width of materials showed the biggest coefficient of percentage of variability at 93.07%,then the number of fruits ranked second at 89.64%.The fatty of seed kernel showed the lowest percentage of variability at 4.93%,the vertical length of seed ranked the second lowest at8.16%.The biggest diversity coefficient is of the vertical length of fruit at 2.06,and the lowest diversity coefficient is of the crown width at 1.461.2.The number of fruits has a significantly correlated with the weight of tree,the trunk diameter and the crown width,r=0.724(P?0.01),0.636(P?0.01),0.766(P?0.01).The weight of fruit has a significantly correlated with the size of fruit,r=0.678(P?0.01)and0.597(P?0.01),.The weight of seed has a significantly correlated with the weight of fruit and the size of seed,r=0.527(P?0.01)?0.491(P?0.01)?0.515(P?0.01).The weight of kernel has a significantly correlated with the weight of fruit and the vertical length of seed,r=0.568(P?0.01),0.486(P?0.01).There is a significantly negative correlated between theprotein content and fatty content in kernel,r=-0.900(P?0.01).3.The principal component analysis extracted four principal components from all agronomic characters,described 78.819% of information of all agronomic characters.The principal component one described the characters of seed of materials,principal component two described the characters of tree and fruit,principal component three showed the characters of the weight of fruit and protein content,principal component four showed the character of the number of seeds in the fruit.The integrated principal component value of each plant distributed from-1.75~2.1,and the plus trees were selected with the high integrated principal component value which included WF4?WF9?WF15?WF16?WF17?WF18?LY5.4.The content of fatty acid in WF9's kernels is 58.0%,oleic acid content is25.8%,linoleic acid content is 42.4%,neuroacid content is 4.4%,protein content is25.3%,glutamate content is 5.74%,arginine content is 2.58%;the content of fatty acid in WF15's kernels is 56.2%,oleic acid content is 29.1%,linoleic acid content is 41.8%,neuroacid content is 3.92%,protein content is 28.2%,glutamate content is 6.6%,arginine content is2.97%;the content of fatty acid in WF17's kernels is 60.1%,oleic acid content is32.2%,linoleic acid content is 39.2%,neuroacid content is 3.64%,protein content is25.1%,glutamate content is 5.72%,arginine content is 2.6%5.The survival rate of WF17's grafted seedlings is 61.67%,average length of new branch is 73.67 cm,average diameter of the base of new branch is 7.07 mm,which is the lowest level in plus trees;the survival rate of WF18's grafted seedlings is 81.33%,average length of new branch is 110.50 cm,average diameter of the base of new branch is 11.32 mm,which is the highest level in plus trees.The average survival rate of grafted seedlings of plus trees is72.75%,average length of new branch is 90.60 cm,average diameter of the base of new branch is 9.53 mm.
